You posted a pic. of yourself with a little facial hair that was nice too. Pair that with a haircut that looks good and you'll be set.

You're not ugly! I do like the first picture better than the second. I think it's a combination of better lighting, posture, and the slightly longer hairstyle.

In the second picture you look extremely young, which I'd guess might be partly the photo and partly that you just haven't completely grown into your adult look yet. It might be worth grabbing a camera and a friend and taking a bunch of photos to see how you look from different angles, in different outfits, and in different lighting if one of the things you need is a variety of good looking photos.
