Is it possible to get a job if I have limited availability?

I recently joined two support groups at the place I go to for counseling. They're both in the early afternoon, on different days. I've been working with an organization that helps people with disabilities find jobs. At our last meeting, my counselor told me that nobody would want to hire me if I have limited availability. I think I really need the support groups for my mental health and to practice my social skills. Do you think there are any employers out there who would be willing to work with my limited availability?

I think there certainly are employers who can work around your schedule; "nobody will hire you" is kind of a hyperbolic statement (lots of people have jobs during college, for example, and class schedules are way more restrictive than two afternoons a week!). Yes, it may hurt your chances of hiring at some places if they only need people for afternoon shifts, but there are plenty of part-time jobs that need night shift, early AM shift, etc. Plus, most people don't work 7 days a week, and if the days you need off are weekdays, you won't be competing with the people who don't want to work Saturday/Sunday. Go apply for jobs anyway, and if they want to hire you, it's not that likely that your schedule will be a dealbreaker.

It depends a lot on what type of job you want. As Werel said, tons of people have jobs+school, which is a really restrictive schedule. If you are looking for a full-time, Monday-Friday, 9-5 type job, that might make it a little more difficult, but if you're open to anything else, there is a lot of other work arrangements that exist .
