Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
A 12 episode anime that's been playing through most of this season. We're on episode 9 and I personally think there is no goddamn way this is ending with 12, but mebs they'll wrap it up nicely somehow. I think it's on Amazon Prime or, you know, it's the internet, there's ways to find it
Steampunk + Trains + Japanese Samurai and the Shogunate + The Walking Dead + Attack on Titan (I think the production studio and the show runner did work on AoT)
Here's the intro
Here's some Mumei cosplay. Mumei cosplaying popped up about 3 goddamn seconds after the first episode ended, I don't know how these people work so fast
They let a girl drive the train!
YOSHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Welcome back, 1980s style anime

IDK if I'll watch it but that gif of the girl driving the train is mesmerizing. Good work on that nice fluid motion across her arms and spine, animators. (They had to draw it real good to prove that girls should be allowed to drive trains )

Re: Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
Does this thread mean you're elevating it to an Official Bomaye Rec, bomaye?
Yep, they drew it real good (Also, is it just me or is mechanic/driver one of the more popular 'women in traditionally male role' roles of late?)
I believe it

Re: Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
This one's more of a "I think this crowd might be into something like this, so maybe I'll just nudge it out there" rec than a brain-melter like Erased or Ajin or <3 like Genshiken <_<
I'm personally getting a lot of nostalgia feels because the character designer behind Macross/Robotech designed these ones, and a bunch of people trapped in a vehicle defending themselves from the world at large is pretty Macross even if there's no mecha

If nothing else, might watch someday just to find an anime character who can compete with Lady Eboshi in terms of "owning the shit outta traditionally male roles"

Maybe if I spam-cast enough of these threads, people will randomly come back to something someday

Re: Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
It occurs to me after watching Berserk that there's a character in this who's definitely based on Griffith
