Sports Griping Thread
Gripe about your team, gripe about people who play sports, gripe about people who obsessively follow sports, gripe about stupid sports stories, gripe about the pay athletes make. GRIPE.
[Seahawks]: They threw the ball instead of letting Lynch run it.
[UFC]: Just let them take drugs and steroids or don't. Enough of this middle-of-the-road where someone can fail a test a month ago but still fight because it's important for business, only to smear the fight afterwards when test results come out.

Re: Sports Griping Thread
Chargers season ending early after a super strong start. Early season anomalies my ass...
Tell ya what, if the O-line would stop being do-nothing ninnies, then I think the team would have sustained for longer. Plus, the injuries Woodhead sustained as well as other centers suffered were avoided like Mike Scifres' season ending injury, I think we would have been okay too.
Too many injuries and a weak offensive line overall contributed to the Chargers' downfall this season. Guh.
But, Lynch is on free agency this season if he doesn't renew his contract with Seattle. They offered, but... do you think he's gonna wanna go back after blowing a major play like that AT THE GODDAMN SUPER BOWL? Costing him another ring and the Lombardi Trophy? I don't think so. So, Heeey Chargers, why don't we offer Lynch a more competitive deal, eh? ;D

Glad Fox is gone, the Broncos kept underperforming in the big games. You have the best team on paper, do something with it!

Also not without Peyton you do either. Getting rid of the entire coaching staff and getting a new coach & everything is gonna be a thorn in Peyton's side. From what I know, Peyton isn't real big on people changing things on him and having to adjust to new staff. Plus, he's getting up there in age and has maybe one or two more seasons in him considering how well he played in the later games (this is me being generous).
Also, Peyton originally didn't wanna go to Denver, he wanted to play with the Texans.

It's all come full circle, then, in a way.
Yeah, well I'm hoping that those last games were just due to injuries and he can stay healthy. Brett Favre had one of his best seasons in his age 42 season which was sandwiched between two injury plagued seasons, so I wouldn't count him out.
He better get used to change. He needs to accept Kubiak's system and realize that he's too old to do the whole full-time offensive coordinator on the field thing anymore.

This stuff cracks me up. The furor that arose when that fighter tested positive for coke had me in stitches. I would bet money that Rogan does more then his share of blow before the events. I'm sure that and much "worse" goes on behind closed doors. Don't be naive.

Oh yeah, I know all about Brett Farve. The dude pulled so many bait & switch stunts on retiring that nobody was for sure if he was serious.
Well, realize what'll happen when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, something is gonna happen. In this case, either Peyton will leave or Kubiak will walk. They're both adults and I'm sure they could work together, but I don't see it happening, not with Peyton's ego.
-shrug-
It's gonna be a veeeery interesting seasons this year.

I want an all-steroid UFC and Olympics.

Well it's like, Jon Jones tests positive for cocaine during a time when he's in a training camp. They don't throw out the fight, they don't suspend him, so why test for it in the first place?
Or, his testosterone levels were extremely low, a sign of PED use. They don't take it as a warning sign to do anything about it. Why bother testing for high levels of testosterone and PED use?

And everyone somehow acts like the league and the referees call things right down the middle :p

Dear NFL.
Comparing Ray Rice and Tom Brady - how come deflating footballs is twice as bad as domestic violence?

Yes, the Rockies are going through a rough patch right now. Yes, they probably aren't a contender this year. But still, internet Rockies fans, can you not be so whiny, fatalistic, and toxic about it? I still watch sports to, you know, entertain myself.

Hope Solo should not be representing the United States at the Women's World Cup while there's a domestic violence case pending against her.

Re: Sports Griping Thread
Maybe we should just make this a general sports thread, things are going about as a expect them to in my sports world. The Whitecaps are in the thick of the MLS playoff race and a decently streaky team, are playing in two competitions that will at least produce some rivalry games (Montreal in the Canadian Championship final, Seattle is in our group in the CONCACAF Champions League). The Canucks probably should've beaten Calgary but it wasn't the biggest upset when they didn't, things are progressing about as much as I thought they would with them

Re: Sports Griping Thread
Sounders star Clint Dempsey assaulted a referee last night in their Open Cup match with Portland. (He ripped the referee's notebook up and per USSF policy, that's referee assault.) And yet people are saying he shouldn't get the three month/six month ban the USSF's policies call for because we might need him to win the Gold Cup.

Phillies, last night was bad. Rather bad. Worse than I expected and I watched Williams pitch last weekend. Still a fan. Today looks more like an actual contest! But... yeah.
Though on second though--Francoeur on the mound was rather awesome. At first... we have terrible management and I don't want to see what happens when Utley leaves.

Hello fellow Phillies fan! I thankfully was spared watching last night's game - I was at PPL instead cheering on the Union in Open Cup play.readertorider wrote:Phillies, last night was bad. I would send my condolences to you both for being Phillies fans, but alas I'm a Rockies fan and so I'm in no position to condescend

How many days until football season? 40? All right!
But... I gotta endure through two more months of fucking baseball. Including the World Series. -cringe-
