I can't make out my co-worker's behavior
For the past year I've worked with girl for around a year and I can't make out what she thinks of me. Are relationship was not great at first but recently things have gotten much better. That said talking to her can be really difficult as some days she will be really friendly while others she just seems to blank me without saying anything. Today was a good example when we both left work at the same time and walked to the car park. She simply walked slightly in front of me without saying anything and just left. But two days earlier she poked me in the back as a joke and asked how I was, when I was doing some shopping before work.
I might just be over thinking it all, but it's something I've struggled to understand for the past year.
Thought I would just ask if anyone had some ideas.

It sounds to me like she's a friendly coworker. Which means some days she's going to be into talking to you and some days not because she's got her own things taking up her mental space.

Yeah, agreed with Wondering; sounds like y'all are on friendly coworker terms and that she has days where she doesn't want to chitchat, like everybody does. Warming up slowly to coworkers is pretty typical. Unless there was some specific reason you say your relationship wasn't good at first/you had a big conflict?

Mainly something to do with work where I kept doing something wrong and made her job a bit harder. But this was back around Christmas and I've learnt from the mistake. It's only really been the last month or two where we really started to talk more. But yeah you might be right I do have a tendency to take things personally at times

I third Wondering. Coworkers can be friends but are usually one level lower than acquaintances on the tightness of relationship scale since you are only interacting because you are stuck in the same place for 8+ hours a day. Therefore people feel comfortable withdrawing on occasion, especially at the beginning and end of the day, and not keeping up the social niceties.

Yeah i guess it's just that she suddenly just seems to stop talking to me altogether while being the same around the others. I might be overacting but being completely ignored for weeks only for her to start talking with me again can make it hard to work out if I did something wrong.
lol sorry it's just something that's happend a few times over the past year
