Here we go, nerds!

The EA conference was earlier today, some others tomorrow and stuff will be coming out over the next few days about VIDEO GAMES. So here's a thread for anything you're interested in or wow'ed by. There was also a Pokemon Direct maybe a week ago that announced things like Pokken Tournament for the Switch and Pokemon UltraSun and UltraMoon.

Tooootally want to play Pokken Tournament (does that count as E3 news?). Mildly disappointed that every single playable character except Suicune is from the Monster/Human-type egg group. Guess they needed all the bipeds so they could just animate kicks and punches? Still, totally hoping at least one of my friends with a Switch buys it so I can play.

Mannnn, I watched the EA and Microsoft conferences and it was all like... 99% stuff that I found generic or if it was sorta cool, they'd say "shared world/multiplayer/play with your friends Grin" and I'm like "No Grin"

Also releasing an update console when this generation has barely done anything :nono:

Shit legit just makes me want to buy a PS3 so I can finish off all the stuff from last-gen that used to wow me

I feel about the same. Suuper-unimpressed about the update console. Got a moment of excitement when I saw there's going to be a new Bioware series, but it disappeared when I saw that it'll be shared world/whatever, and it looks pretty generic, too. Whole lot of sameness otherwise.

Yeah, that Anthem game looked kind of cool with it's open world and iron man suit, but then it sort of looked like every other recent open world type game (Destiny, Horizon, even the new Star Wars) and then they revealed it was just a loot multiplayer game and it was like "welp, don't have to play that"

Yeah, I wish they'd play with style a bit more, I'm sick of games that you can't tell at a glance which of twenty different games it is.

Bethesda just easily had the best conference. Short, to the point, showed off what it wanted to show off with out much Corporate droning

Wolfenstein looks fucking cool (and makes me want to play the remake), Link in Skyrim on Switch makes me want to actually play Skyrim

Ubisoft was a little "eh." Some okay (Far Cry in Montana with a crazy American cult, Assassin's Creed in Egypt) and some things like Beyond Good and Evil that I never played that I couldn't get excited about

Yoshi! Yoshi's Island is one of my old favorites, new one looks pretty fun. Don't know how innovative it'll be, but I'm up for more of the same with that series.

Agreed, Detroit also looks pretty interesting. Would play if I still had a PS4.

Aight, now that the conferences are wrapped up:

Things I'm jacked about: I def want to hit up the switch so I figure I'll end up playing most of these

- Skyrim for Switch: I guess all it takes is a set of Link clothes and the Master Sword and I'm in
- Super Mario Odyssey: THROW A HAT AT A FROG AND THEN YOU BECOME THE FROG
- Breath of the Wild DLC: Haven't played BotW yet, but def will
- Splatoon 2: Another game that would be fun as fuck. I don't care about multiplayer shooters but this game got me pretty good for a few weeks.
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Japanese voices, please?
- Mainline Pokemon RPG for Switch: FINALLY
- Metroid Prime 4: FINALLY

Things I'm interested in: I probably won't play most of these because I don't have anything that can, but I think I would like to if I could (I might be able to do Cuphead since it's indie shit)

- Assassin's Creed Origins (Egypt): Assassin's Creed is Assassin's Creed, and I'm okay with that. Unless they removed all the sidequests and checklists and things to do
- Tacoma: A space station puzzle/exploration game might be cool
- Super Lucky's Tale: Cartoony 3D platformers <3
- Cuphead: Dat look
- Far Cry 5: Far Cry with Montana redneck cults being the bad guys, shouldbcool
- Wolfenstein 2 Looks awesome

Things I'm mildly interested in: A lot of these are like "I'll probably never play them or have the console to play them so no biggie, or I'm slightly interested but they're sequels and I haven't played their originals yet.

- Skull and Bones: It looks like a re-skinned Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. They even re-used the audio from the Sea Shanties for it. I'd probably have to see how checklisty and stuff it is first, but if it's closer to Black Flag than not, I'd probably like to play it.
- Star Wars Battlefront II: Single player mode! Also it could be a fun few weeks of multiplayer. This is the one I'm least likely to ever play, because multiplayer games are very current and I'm not gonna be current at all with Xbone or PS4
- Forza 7 I don't care about cars in that nerd way, but I did play a Forza game on my 360 and it was chill.
- Dragon Ball FighterZ: So it's made by the guys who do Guilty Gear and Blazblue, and they're pretty serious when making their fighting games. I dunno if I'd ever play it (if I feel like playing DBZ, I'd probs try to grab one of the Wii Budokai Tenkaichi games instead), but I think if I wanted to, this is one I'd check out
- Life is Strange: Before the Norm: Acks I still have to try out the original
- Middle Earth: Shadow of War:: Orcs talking was pretty cringe, and I also have to play the original (Shadows of Mordor), but the concept of having a rivals and forming your own army is still intriguing
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps: Stiiiiiill have to play the original.
- Beyond Good and Evil 2: Wtf is the hype with this?
- The Crew 2 Can you play single player? The idea of an open world vehicle game is cool, but I don't like shared world shit
- The Evil Within 2: Haven't played the original (looks really spooky) but maybe. I always get a bit of a hankering for survival horror, but then I start playing it and then it gets too spooky for me
- God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Uncharted the Lost Legacy are like... in theory I'd probably like to play them, but they also seem very derivative of the older games (or in Colossus case, a straight remake) that I'd want to play more, and not related to their original games all that much, so it's sort of not exciting
- Spider-Man: It's reskinned Arkham City with Catwoman, really. I'd like to play this game, but I also feel like I've already played this game.
- Yoshi and Kirby: I always like seeing that these games are getting made but the price-tag always feels a little steep for what they are.
