Stuff you're looking forward to
As the title suggests, this is a thread for people to talk about books, games, films, TV shows, comics or anything else that they eagerly await.
I'll start with this game called Nefarious that just about got its funding on Kickstarter. You know how in games like Super Mario Bros you're the hero rescuing the princess from the big bad evil guy? In Nefarious, you are the big bad evil guy kidnapping the princesses and trying to stop the heroes from rescuing them. One thing I like the look of in particular with this game is the boss fights in which you take on the role of the boss.
So what about you folks? What's gotten you hyped?

Dragon Age Inquisition, the second half of Outlander, and Warlords of Draenor (the latest WoW expansion) are all on my list.

I am seriously liking the trailers for Horns and cannot wait for it to come out. Also, have heard Pratchett is writing a fourth Tiffany Aching book and am extremely excited about that!

SO MUCH looking forward to Dragon Age: Inquisition. Possibly so much that I'll even buy it new!

Season 5 of The Walking Dead! Hated the very end of season 4, but having recently seen the trailer for season 5 got me excited. Also, I know this is 'geeky', but I'm excited for hockey season to start again!

Definitely excited and anxious about this upcoming season.Gamerz wrote:Season 5 of The Walking Dead!
Looking forward to whenever the next SH game comes out (hopefully on the one system I actually have). Saw a trailer of possible creatures and I need it in my life.
Waiting for the next Legend of Zelda game to come out.
Waiting for my brother or sister to get their hands on Alien: Isolation so I can experience it too.

No Man's Sky. I love this concept so much I want to do an LP of my entire playthrough (which could last years)because otherwise no one else in the game will ever see the stuff I find!
Mad Max Fury Road - I'm not super duper excited on this one but its going to have cool cars and it;l be a necessary cultural reference in my peer group.

The second season of Masters Of Sex (which is out, but we haven't started watching it yet). The first season was some of the best TV I've seen in a while and I'm hopeful it'll continue that way!

GoT season 4 being available to stream, season 5 Walking Dead, and (long game) Orphan Black Season 3.
Not new releases, but I am looking for time to binge Myst 3-5 but the rare confluence of time and mental acuity have not happened yet. When the time is there I mostly only have it in me to be a passive receptor of entertainment

Early reviews for Horns says that apart from Daniel Radcliffe, it's not very good. I was looking forward to that one too.

No Man's Sky is my most eagerly anticipated game. It might actually be an industry game-changer, and we're long overdue for one of those. They're making a lot of huge claims and if they don't do what Will Wright did with Spore (remember that lackluster little shit?), it will change gaming as we know it.
Fury Road had a great trailer. I haven't even seen any of the Mad Max films, and it looks good. I'm gonna be cautiously optimistic about that one.

Shit, that's one more show I need to watch. Everyone's raving about that one. Does it get too soap-opera-y or is it actually like a mature perspective on sexology?
Super Smash Bros 3DS, for sure. Smash is what got me into gaming, it's still my favorite series ever, I absolutely must have it. And by next week, I will have saved up enough to get it (yay for college).
Shadows of Mordor, a LOTR spin-off game, is also apparently really good. It's got this thing called the "nemesis system" that personalizes every enemy in the game, and every time you die, they will be powered up. They will also change appearance depending on their power level and where you injure them. It's apparently amazing.
As far as films, Interstellar for sure. Early reviews say it's a lock for Best Picture, and that it's one of the best science fiction films of this century. Inception got the same hype (and I like that movie, but it's not a masterpiece, although very interesting ideas), but this might be the one that nets Nolan the Oscar he should've gotten for The Dark Knight. I like how with this and Gravity, we're seeing an increase of movies about space and astronomy.
Gone Girl just released in theaters today, and the only reason I want to see it is because David Fincher is the director for that one, and he's another favorite of mine. Apparently it's another Best Picture/Director lock, and it's very possible that two of the biggest filmmakers working today might actually go head to head. This would be the biggest Best Picture challenge since Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction twenty years ago if they're both as great as people say.

Re: Stuff you're looking forward to
Currently waiting for Halo: MCC and GTA V for my Xbox One. That's enough gaming right there for a lifetime lol :-). Halo I always wanted to play and never got to, so that getting to play all 4 at once in a row like that, sounds amazing. Also, GTA V - I am constantly watching Let's play's of it (of the online mode, don't want to spoil the story) and it looks awesome, especially when you can get a friend or two to join along for all sorts of online GTA tomfoolry :-)
No Man's Sky - Sounds very interesting, let's see how that shapes up.
Shadow of Mordor - Definetly seems cool, but I have to say that the violence there just rubs me a bit the wrong way for some weird reason.... so I'll probably get it at a discount sometime in the future.
Just saw the trailer for Interstellar - HOW HAVE I NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW? Thanks Glides, definetly thinking about going to see it when it comes out here :-)

I'm not a big fan of soap-opera-y, so I wouldn't have liked it if it went that route. I thought it was quite mature and complex in its handling of character development, gender issues, relationships, sexuality, etc., though not without some light-hearted moments as well.

Looking forward to being able to purchase the new Super Smash Bros. game because I'm currently in moratorium from buying things for myself for reasons.

Still looking forward to Obduction (new game by Cyan; of Myst fame) - but that's been true since I chipped in on the Kickstarter. ^^ Came across an article on it today, too. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2690802/deep-dive-qa-behind-the-scenes-of-obduction-cyans-move-beyond-myst.html

Going to ACL tomorrow! I anticipate equal measures of cool music to get into and solitary awkwardness, based on previous experience going to shows alone, but I've never been to a music festival.
