Neverland 12
OH MAN
By the way
OH MAN
- Spoiler:
- They left the children behind, I was wondering why no one was lugging babies around
- Oh fuck, Phil HAD figured it out and the baton's been passed to him to hold down the fort until they come back for him and the kids later
- Totally expecting something horrifying to happen
- Norman is the absolute escape GOAT
- Isabella fucking flashing back to her own escape attempt
- The delay, she's gonna have a chance to cut Emma down
- AND SHE GOES AND ISABELLA DOESN'T
- The banjo song, that's that lullaby again
- Isabella's Mama training is horrifying
My In The Moment Reaction to Ray humming the Lullaby
[20:39] <Madustcrusader> holy
[20:39] <Madustcrusader> fuck
[20:40] <Madustcrusader> HOLY FUCK
He remembers the lullaby because he remembers being a fetus. She's been raising her own son this whole time
- And she tells Phil that they all escaped, how far ahead was she?
- Successful escape, that sunrise, kille'm all children
By the way
- Spoiler:
Season 2, 2020. I'M HYPE ALREADY

Neverland 12
Wait, it says this is the final episode?!?
GIMME NEXT SEASON NOW!!
Wait, it says this is the final episode?!?
- Spoiler:
-holy shit, she's leaving the younger kids after all
-Gilda brings up that there's a whole system of kids out there that'll be left behind either way
-Phil reacting like a little kid when Emma confirms it seems particularly sad, he's been so smart and aware of things, but he's still that little
-Phil makes the decision for them. Poor kid, dealing with this on his own for the next two years.
-Permission to kill the ones that aren't high-quality as long as they keep the brains (so none of the other kids between 4 and 11 are high quality, and then all 6 4-yr-olds potentially are?? Weird distribution)
-Good old Norman, still keeping them stocked on secret alternate plans
-Ray's so flabbergasted by all these plans he didn't know about and skills they've mastered
-Norman appearing to Ray with a smug little "how's this?" I'm starting to be worried he could be really dead, though, his imagined appearances and how much his last letter has kept doing for them kind of seem like something that wouldn't happen with someone who's really still alive. Though, this show loves to withhold info from us, so it'd be hard to believe they would have not shown his death and still have him be really dead.
-"You don't have to give up, Ray," and then Ray's expression
-ohshit, Mama's coming and one of the kids can't do it (also, how the fuck are the rest of them so brave that no one was scared until one of them mentions the drop?!?)
-Ray takes over and helps give them confidence like Emma and Norman always have (are they sure the ropes can take two people, though? )
-HURRY, GO, EMMMA!!!!
-Little Bunny burning as she says goodbye to the house they loved in spite of everything
-the ropes waving in the wind over the cliff
-happy little Isabella
-and then watching the boy smiling bravely as he gets shipped off, and Isabella running to the wall only to get caught. That these little bits of courage and heroism have been happening over and over and led nowhere over and over
-in the lineup of girls in training, with total hate in her eyes
-the scene of her pregnant, uncommented on, and then she's just not pregnant in the next scene
-calm and soft-focused and happy at the plant
-THE SONG HOLY FUCK RAY'S HER KID
-his smile, and her horror, and "hey mom, why did you give birth to me" and holy fuck, the way she treated him all that time when they had the bargain, and how cold she was when she cut it off
-"It was for survival. Longer than anyone."
-I totally thought she was going to jump or hang herself as the sad song played while she's standing on the wall gathering up the ropes, and then she wishes them to find light, and comes back to tend to the remaining kids like everything's normal again (and even notices Phil knew, if she hadn't already figured it out)
GIMME NEXT SEASON NOW!!

It seems to me more that they don't know until they're 6 years old. Connie seemed like she was obviously handicapped in some way but they still waited until she was 6 years old.
But yeah, sometime in 2020 is next season

Re: Winter Anime 2019 Season
I've finally gotten around to watching and finishing Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka and watching Boogiepop 2019
Asuka was more of the same, hardcore exploitative edgy bullshit with Magical Girls and stuffed animals as the enemy forces. It was absolute garbage, and I'd probably watch another season of it
Boogiepop is actually pretty intriguing. The first three episodes adapt the first light novel, and apparently Boogiepop was the light novel that kicked off the light novel trend. It wasn't super interesting. The light novels after it very much are. Supernatural/mystery/conspiracy stuff. It never gets heart-poundingly exciting, but seeing how things resolve and intermix together is... intriguing.

- Spoiler:
Basically humanity is evolving, and various forces are working to stop that evolution. Boogiepop is a Shinigami that shows up whenever an "enemy of humanity" also shows up, there's other spiritual forces that try to accomplish whatever it is they're naturally supposed to accomplish, and there's a secret organization that's monitoring human evolution and secretly experimenting on humanity and trying to figure out how to control humanity so they can either stop evolution or carefully control its emergence. It mostly centers around regular people (who all mostly seem to go to the same high school...) accidentally getting caught up in the machinations of any of the above.
