Holidays, man. So many movies center on it, usually involving things being set on fire. But I've found that people's real life stories line up with the Griswolds more than you might think.

So, what's you're most "comedy" holiday moment?

For me, it was the fact that at 11, I had to make all of thanksgiving dinner. I had a very detailed list of instructions with time stamps, I wasn't tall enough to reach everything, and I could barely carry the ham (ham not turkey because ham is already cooked) to the oven. Turned out okay though. First time cooking anything at all. Go big or go home.

I'm trying to think of any really good ones, since my family doesn't tend to have the funniest holidays, but the most funny recent one is that my mother has finally turned into the sort of person who posts a picture of the family cat wearing a Christmas outfit in November. The cat looks so offended.

My family holidays were very vodka fueled and usually hilarious so I am trying to pick out which kind of funny I want to roll with. Shooing the kids out of the dining room so we did not see my two great uncles get into it because one was annoyed by the other doing card tricks which resulted in the entire dining room table getting knocked over along with dinner? My grandmother cursing at the the Pope on TV's Vatican midnight mass as if he was her neighbor with the same litany every year. The unfortunate incident when my dad tried to DIY flock the tree with flour and water.....

My mother once left the baggie inside the Christmas turkey when it was cooking...

I need some DIY flocking details. Because... amazing.

Our family long-term arguments entirely center around holiday food. Gravy or not? (it matters because it depends on how salty you make your mashed potatoes) Pecan pie or Pumpkin? (or both, let's go both)

My mom did that once. Before I was born. But I knew the story, and so I knew to look for that bag when I made my first turkey. Which I did. But I couldn't find it. I found the neck, which was in the body cavity, but I had no idea the giblets from the body cavity were actually in the neck.

So I assumed that turkey was missing the giblets, and I cooked the bag, too. We didn't find it until after dinner when my husband was breaking down the remainder the turkey to put away the leftovers.

Wondering

There is the right way to do it

And how my dad tried to do it which involved spraying the tree with water and throwing flour at it, realizing that was not working and mixing some weird, probably highly toxic powdered adhesive in the flour, and dumping the mix over it because you are frustrated. It was a sticky off gassing mess that gave us all headaches and made removing ornaments a challenge.
