Although I did encounter a few boards years ago when I was avidly looking for advice and/or perspectives on being an adult male virgin. It...didn't help in the slightest.

Yeahhh, I don't get the impression that reddit is the place you go when you're looking for reasonable, compassionate advice on being part of a stigmatized population. Hooray for these dead old forums we got going here!

I wouldn't call myself a redditor per se, but I do have an account. A friend of mine discovered the WritingPrompts subreddit, wherein people post prompts to inspire writers, who can then comment with short stories, practice their craft or just get their creative juices flowing. So we both created accounts and wrote for some prompts there for a time. It was pretty cool; she had never really written anything before and I hadn't done any writing in well over a decade. And the community there seems pretty supportive for the most part. I still check the subreddit occasionally, though I haven't posted anything recently.

I haven't really looked for other subreddits, either, although I've occasionally stumbled on a few video game ones when searching for strategy tips/questions for specific games I was playing.

Like Werel, I'm also curious as to what the "uhhhhh" is all about.

Agreed. I wish they'd been around when I was younger, especially in college. Maybe I wouldn't have had to bottle up so much for so long, simply because I wasn't one of the crazies. But the forums are here now as a reasonable alternative for the new generation that needs them.

I do have an account and use it often. Reddit was a good source of information back when I began transitioning, and especially it's very good if you want to learn about gender affirming surgeries, but there was a point where I had already learnt all I needed and I sort of grew out of it. These days I just browse subreddits about synthesizers, punk music/culture stuff and cute animal gifs. I'm on a couple of anarchism subs too but the discussion doesn't seem to ever get too interesting. I was hoping there were a few dating advice/nerd culture subs where I could hopefully meet you all again - I've really thought about this forum in the years I've spent without posting!
