Goodbye, farewell, that whole deal. Empty Goodbye, farewell, that whole deal.

Hello folks.

So anyway, I got into serious trouble a couple weeks ago for acting like a mod when I wasn't one, and got banned for it. And the ban was one that I earned.

Having considering just the sheer amount of conflicts and trouble I've either accidentally or deliberately started on here, it's not particularly smart for me to say. I'm a pretty abrasive kind of guy, the kind of person who very few people can tolerate.

So I'm not even remotely suggesting for a second that any of you are to blame here for the crap I've pulled over the years, but that last incident was just a sign that I shouldn't be making things any worse. I was advised by the mods that it would be best simply to say goodbye on the forum and then conk out for good, so that's what this is.

I'd like to apologize for being an asshole this entire time, for ranting consistently about my insecurities and flaws, and just generally infuriating and pissing off almost everyone on here. I've refused to accept for the longest time that the thing making it tough to post on the forum without getting flak is myself. I've generally held controversial and incorrect positions on almost everything, and I'm working to fix those parts of myself that made it so easy to dislike me on here.

When everyone else seems like an asshole, it means you're the asshole. I'm only learning that now.

I dunno what else to say. I apologize for any inconvenience I might have caused to you. Thanks for being far more empathetic and tolerant individuals than most.

Peace out,

Glides

Good luck with whatever you do in the future Glides. I really sincerely mean that. I hope you keep on with the insight you mentioned in your post and keep working on improving yourself.

I've always been rooting for you, even if I got frustrated at times.

Cheers!

<mod>Just to clarify! Glides' temporary ban was always intended to be temporary, and none of the mods ever suggested that he leave permanently.

Glides, you're totally welcome back if you ever want to return. </mod>

Personally, I will miss your always-compelling posts, but I completely understand that sometimes one needs a break (temporary or indefinite) from the forums. You do whatcha need to do. And if I can get sappy for a moment? Watching your growth and increasing empathy and insight in your forum interactions has been a privilege. I'm glad we got to interact here. Razz

Man, sometimes I feel like there's something about these forums that turns away the people who are most in need of advice, support etc.

Then I remember that we're not a therapy group in the slightest, and there's only so much 'help' that can be offered...

I'll miss you and your posts Glides.  First person to message me, highfive for that :3 And for the record, being an asshole isn't always a bad thing. It's cheesy, but it sticks with me: I'd rather be someone's shot of whiskey than everyone's cup of tea..   There are people who will enjoy your company and your personhood unadulterated; improve as much as you aspire to, but don't forget that.
