so because i have no more dignity and pride left, the pandemic has taken another casualty: my hair.

it's funny because every AMAB in my family is bald, and i was hoping i could avoid it like my other AMAB cousins. i'm not bald, but i am quickly realizing that my hair keeps goddamn falling out, and just enough now that i have a receding hairline at 26. so now i wear hats and beanies to compensate. even though i'm sure nobody else pays attention other than me.

so should i shave it all off? get a wig? i'm trying to think of things to do once it's warmer. i don't know if it's a thing i should admit to prospective partners, so they're not caught by surprise. the more hyperbolic self would claim a receding hairline is the most unattractive feature a person could have.

this sucks.

I have quite the experience with balding early. My amazing head of hair started falling off before i hit 23. First it was skin issues and now it's just decaying.

Yout best bet is to grow what you have a bit long, and then, next time you go to the barber, ask them to hide your bald spots/receding hairline the best they can. A good hairdo and combing carefully can hide a LOT.

Also, if you can afford it,  you could try a Minoxidyl treatment. It's the only pharmacological treatment for hair loss that actually works. Slow, but steady. There's a bunch of brand-name treatments with it, but I've found that a made-to-order 5% disolution in a spray bottle works best, so ask around if a pharmacist can make it for you. Might grow hairs in places you didn't expect, tho.

I don't really know how you look so this is mostly speculation, but I can't recommend shaving unless you really want to experiment wildly with your looks. It looks good on a lot of guys at 30-40 (and a lot of women dig it), but younger than that it's a bit weird, and it just screams "skinhead" at first sight. You don't want to look like a violent racist gang member, right?

And I don't know shit about wigs, but I hear they're expensive and difficult. I mean, you're into cinema, you know how often fake hair ends up looking all wrong in actors' heads.
