Egypt (note the coming and going and return of the headscarf)

The research behind Egypt

Men in the US - Black (note the greater style variation than with the white men video)

The research behind Men in the US -Black

Ireland (I was surprised by the north/Republic variation)

Missed this when you first posted it.

I was surprised to see the headscarf gone for so long in Egypt and then making a comeback after such a long absence. It wasn't just a decade or two.

And yeah, the black men's US has way more variation than the white men's. White men's seemed like it was just yoyoing back and forth every couple decades. Every decade was different for the black men.

I'm also suprised to see so much variation between Ireland and Northern Ireland. They're so close! Seems like much more variation than even West and East Germany. Also, I think Ireland wins for worst '80s hair. Wink

Syria. They do not have the "Making of" video posted yet

ETA: And Kenya. Thus proving that even if you have great style in all other decades, the 1980s were unkind

I only just saw the Kenya one now, and man, yeah, 80s, wtf!? I think it's otherwise one of the most consistently stylish ones, though, and that model is gorgeous.

Ooooh! I never thought of that, but they would.

The 80s were such an unfortunate fashion era. The music was amazing and I guess it stole all of the amazing for the decade, leaving none for clothes, hair, make up, interior decorating or celebrities (the 80s were the beginning of Trump fame)

I've remarked in the past that I'm also interested in the evolution of styles, is this the appropriate thread for fashion breakdowns by country such as this? http://highfashionpakistan.tumblr.com/post/146010705459/pakistani-fashion-101

Sure, unless you want to create a stand alone thread. It is a topic that might be worth its own discussion instead of as an add on to a video series

I think 1980s New York one looks a bit like Sarah Jessica Parker.

Hawaii escaped the bad hair of the 1980s, but it got them in 2000s, albeit not as terrible as elsewhere

On one hand, less decades. On the other hand, outfits!

France, being France, avoided the fashion horrid of the 80s and managed to remain chic

Navajo women also dodged the 80s curse

Sweden apparently absorbed all the bad '80s Haiti and everyone else missed

But they have more gender equity, so worth it
