Woah. That's dope.

How old do you think these kids were and how do you think we can implement this in America's sex ed curriculum?

My guess is 5-9 years old, given what I know of Kenya's primary education system. In the US, honestly it would take a similar sexual assault rate of children, but I am a cynic. Hopefully some places would see that it worked and do it without 60%+ of girls being raped

The title made me skeptical that this was one of those sardonic "rape prevention tips" aimed at a young audience, but this is pretty much bystander intervention training in line with Lisak's findings.

No means no, yes means yes, an article of clothing is not an invitation. Consent. Real simple stuff.

But seriously, this is great. Fuck anybody who says that kids are "too young" to understand what consent is.

I believe that kids can understand many concepts if you find the right kind of language to explain it to them.

I remember that when I was really little (around 3-4 years old) my mother taught me that just like none should have touched me when I didn't want to be touched I shouldn't touch people when they don't want to be touched. I had no problem understanding what she said. Of course there's more to a precise definition of consent that just that, but I think that it was a pretty decent introduction to consent for a 3 year old.

This post on A Mighty Girl's Facebook page made me think of this thread. A simple message for toddlers to learn:

If she's not having fun, you have to stop.
