I just love that "dissaproving face" he/she has on him/her Razz

He looks like a lovely feline :-)

Frequent flier miles + recent birthday + newly single + cancelled vacation = a good excuse to take that trip to Italy I've been putting off for so long. Lemonade, right?

Just saw this.  The combination of self absorption and feline disdain is a thing of beauty, as is the cat.

And definitely go to Italy.

Jasper appreciates the compliments! Of course, he's signaling this by sniffing at his food dish and wondering why no one has brought him his lunch yet, but you know how cats are.

Italy! Italy! In Venice they have rivers for roads! And ruins in Rome! And other awesome things. Like good pizza! (you probably have a more considered opinion, but still multiple exclamation points are certainly necessary (!!!))

I've booked it already. Rome-Cinque Terre-Florence-Venice. I have hundreds of thousands of miles on my credit card, so it will actually end up being more reasonable (at least in terms of hotel + airfare) than some domestic vacations I've taken in the past. I've never been, so I'm very excited - for October at least, when I'll be going.

Oh my god Cinque-Terre is so, so, so beautiful, and October is the perfect time to go there! It's still lovely and warm, but you're missing the tourist season so it will be much less crowded, but still nice enough likely for a swim. I hope you have a wonderful time! Admittedly I went there when I was 12, but I still have such vivid memories, it was by far my favorite part of that trip to Europe. Enjoy!

Oh, Cinque-Terre! I've never been, but my brother went a few years ago and couldn't stop raving about it. What I know about Cinque-Terre: Take the train between the towns and don't hike the stairs like my brother and his friend thought they had to do. You know, unless you want to hike it. Grin

I set off the fire alarm while cooking, and couldn't get it to stop, and after a couple of minutes, three different neighbors came knocking to check if I was ok! In Norway, this is quite unusual. I love this apartment more and more.

Wonderful article on coolest grandma(also encouraging to see someone thrice my age go so hard-I swear I sometimes leave parties the moment she arrives at 2-3am):

Not personal good news, but still, media has found their first big-name celebrity from the Ashley Madison hack: Josh Duggar. So, the hypocrisy of a man who insisted homosexuality was punishable by death because marriage is sacred just keeps on coming.

I'm caught somewhere between:

There's also an OkCupid profile (with a fake picture easily found online) attached to the same email address as the Ashley Madison one. I felt rather proud of myself when I saw that he and I were only a 15% match - apparently I was doing something right when I was answering my questions.

First night in my own apartment. As annoying as dealing with UHaul and the worst service on the planet was, I'm pretty happy that I had 12 friends come out to help. I mean, I fed them after, but that makes me feel pretty loved that the were willing to come out and lift heavy things in the 90 degree, humid weather, to help me.

Cautiously optimistic - there's actually a date scheduled for next week. Not going to celebrate til it happens though - been burned too many times.

Simple solution, yet a great jump for Izmuthkind: I didn't wear my contacts at the pool with friends, and my anxiety didn't rear its ugly head like it normally does!

Guess when I'm effectively blind I don't worry people might see me look at stuff I shouldn't look at, because I physically can't!
