Things I think I'll definitely check out. I'll probably check out most everything at some point but I'd like to keep the list light this season

Like half the ones you listed weren't on that list! Is Hello World just the movie that was released last year? And Human Lost is a movie too, right?

Even though your list is so short this season, everything I thought had any potential was on it.

Kami no Tou's probably the most interesting to me. The concept's pretty basic so I think this one will depend on the characters, I can't tell from the trailer if they're gonna be completely stock or actually interesting. If they're decent and it doesn't fall into too much wish fulfillment/cliches, I'd probably watch it.

Gleipnir - Weird, and the trailer really didn't give me any better idea what it'll actually be like, so maybe worth checking out?

Neither Kakushigoto nor Nami yo Kiite Kure is really my kind of thing, but I could see either of them being good, so I might watch either one if you rec it. And Fragtime looks weirdly heartwarming for a show about voyeurism.

I didn't realize you'd landed up keeping Fruits Basket, how'd the first season go in the end?

Yeah, I was simulwatching it with someone who it's one of their favourite things.

It was okay. There was some really great episodes and then some were just sorta there. The best ones was a two-parter telling the origin story of the friendship of the big fight-y girl and the main character. I can't for the life of me remember anybody's names though.

Maybe I saw a different list too, if half the shit's not on it then that makes it easy <_<

Not a total home run, but I'm at least going to watch a few more episodes

Kakushigoto's won a few more episodes from me. I don't know if the gag can last longer than a few episodes, but they brought the animation in the first episode <3

Gleipnir 01

Sufficiently edgy for me, reminds me a bit of Juuni Taisen from a few months years ago (wtf?)

Kami no Tou 1 -I'm not very impressed. The whole story feels like it's floating in nothingness, there's no sense of a world, just a rather derivative premise they thought was cool and plopped down there, the characters feel like they started existing at the moment they appear on-screen, and the few we saw seem pretty generic, too. And it looks like it's going to be yet another "wow, amazing, this clueless person is so uniquely wonderful they just happen to wow everyone who meets them and magically sail through every challenge that even people who've been preparing for it all their lives can't manage, who could have ever predicted that?" Convince me that I care about the character before trying to impress me with how awesome-and-yet-down-to-earth/devoted/couragous/attractive-to-everyone-they-meet they are. I don't think I'll bother, this is the kind of thing I'm low in patience for lately.

Gleipnir 1 - I'm not sure yet whether I'm on board with it - it looks like it could be pretty gruesome/overly edgy, and I'm really not down with one bit or where that suggests it's going to go - but it benefited massively from me watching it after Kami no Tou, b/c it did everything right that that one did wrong; established a strong sense of place and used it to set an atmosphere, grounded the character within it, gave you a sense of who he is through little actions and choices, let you develop curiousity, and only then, once you're actually interested in the character, giving you a threat and showing you what he can do, and then building on that with the new pieces it adds, new developments that feel like they belong to a whole we haven't seen yet but are getting hints of the shape of the more we learn, rather than things out of nowhere that feel randomly included and the surprise is just b/c they're out of nowhere.

Yeah, I've been utterly absorbed by Metal Gear Solid V and enticed by so little of this season so far that it feels like I can just knock out whatever I'm behind on in an afternoon, so I just use that justify playing more MGSV <_<

I keep wanting to watch Sing Yesterday For Me because it's got that right feel that I like but it's also like slightly slow and missing something and maybe I'm just impatient from too many video games right now <_<

Sounds like a decent chunk of animes are experiencing delays and postponements because Japan's ill-equipped to do work-from-home.

Not surprising, but fingers crossed Golden Kamuy still happens, I miss that show!

Pokemon, Digimon, One Piece and Black Clover are all hit with delays, Sword Art got punted to next season instead of this one, and I never did get around to Sing Yesterday or more Kakushigoto, so all I've got going this season is Fruits Basket and Gleipnir. A TWO anime season (or at least a two-anime few weeks)

I haven't watched this little anime since I got back into it in like 2016 or whenever that was (actually also waching Eureka 7, FMA Brotherhood with one simuler and Kill La Kill with another but I was doing that anyway so it's still a lot less <_<)
