Story isn't super special but has its moments, power-set is kinda cool in how scientific they get with fire/pyromancy, the style is kinda cool and goes out of its way to be different. "A kinda cool shonen" is mostly how I'd describe it.

Fire Force was fun light-hearted intro shit for the first new episode of the new season

The Misfit of Demon King Academy's got something going for it. It's a little Harry Potter hijinx but Demons instead of Wizards but also a little One Punch Man because the main character is overpowered but also slice-of-life so even though there's magic battles it doesn't feel like there's gonna be an overarching plot beyond "Overpowered Demon Lord needs to update his sense of humour" and "there's a rumour going around that you're a misfit."

Super Hxeroes was.... quite lewd

God of High School had me the moment someone used a Stone Cold Stunner in a kung-fu battle royale

Deca-Dence has a lot of promise. How the alien monsters die is cool as shit, the characters and set-up in a way remind of me of Children of the Whale (or maybe it's more the character designs), and then the last little bit of the episode made me wonder what in the shit that's all about

Oh, maybe I'll check it out then. I loved the character design in Children of the Whale, too. If I have time, I might try The Misfit of Demon King Academy, the One-Punch Man/slice of life combo could be fun.

Yeah, nothing's been particularly special so far this season but it's either executing it's tropiness better than last season or maybe it's more that we actually have a season this time

Theoretically, Rent-A-Girlfriend should be my kind of show but I feel impatient while watching it and couldn't get through all of the first episode.

Might be because I don't know about/care about all this Tinder and Yelp business on phones, it seems more like it's focusing on hijinx surrounding that rather than what would make someone actually Rent A Girlfriend and what kind of person would pretend to be a Girlfriend for an hour or two.

Misfit of Demon King Academy 02

Actually this might not be one-note or droppable, there's more thought being put into this than I would've expected. I really like this.

Deca-Dence - Pretty good setup, if a bit standard, and I enjoyed the storytelling - the character introductions were quite effective, and I like starting with a mundane view of fantastical settings. Monster death was cool, and that bit at the end made me curious. I don't see how the character designs resemble Children of the Whale, though.  I'd definitely watch the next one.

Oops, I'd forgotten I watched the first season of Muhyo to Rouji and I still like it, so that one's up too.

The first five minutes of Gibiate is like "TOO SOON GUYS, TOO SOON" and then I didn't keep watching it

Misfit of Demon King Academy - I watched part of this one day and came back to watch the next day, and from the first part I was gonna say I was so-so on this one, b/c there was stuff that annoyed me but the Evil Hogwarts element and even the concept seemed fun (a rare take on Gary Stu-ing that I think could work), but then when I came back to it, I was immediately like "what's the point of watching this," so I guess my brain decided it was a "no" without me.  The Gary Stu thing was played too flat to be fun, they don't seem like they're going to do anything interesting or intelligent with the disconnect between him having been incredibly evil but also apparently being a nice guy, I found the characters immediately irritating and also boring, and it's full of tropey anime-cliche interactions that in no way resemble actual human interactions and I juuuust dooon't carrrreeee. So, yeah.

Yeah. I dropped that for the same reason, Super Hxeros (way too censored, which defeats the purpose) and Peter Grill (there's an uncensored version but the joke got old). I'm on the fence about dropping God of High School, the twist where it suddenly turned into Persona was not something I wanted out of this specific property but I'll see where it goes.
