So for the last two years or so my room has been decorated in a combination of Craigslist, dumpster diving and Wal-Mart furniture selected on the basis of "this is inexpensive and fulfills my needs. I have come up with a new and ambitious plan - replace as much of this crap as possible with a single, contiguous construction of plumbing pipe. The plan is that this way if I ever need additional space, I can add it later. I expect that I can get my TV stand, night table and book shelf replaced and have room to add extras like display shelves for my masks. The dresser will probably require more creativity or some used apple crates. Has anyone taken on a project like this before? I've got a little experience in carpentry, know how to use a stud finder etc but this is the first time taking on something of this scale.
