Depends on how strong the flavor of the liqueur.

What's really good though, if you can find it, is Smirnoff cranberry. Hell, I don't even know if they still make it, because I'm not allowed to have it anymore.

That's unfortunate; my alcohol tolerance is effectively extremely low (like, "a glass of wine must be spread over three hours or I quickly develop a hangover-like headache" low), but a tenth-slice of pie containing a half-cup of boiled 20%-alcohol liqueur didn't have much of an effect on me (but definitely still added noticeable flavor).

So here I am staying up super late so I can do it again, this time with a homemade gluten-free crust so coworkers can have some. Heh.

A weird realization in going back through FB photos: for all the ways in which my self-perception and feelings about my body/weight/etc. have varied throughout the years (and the HUGE! DIFFERENCES! I perceived at various points in my life), I've pretty much always looked the same, with only the most subtle of differences. Even between when I was practically skeletal and when I was swole (or as swole as I get, anyway), I think I was probably the only person who perceived any change, or certainly at least the only one who thought it was a big change.

Hum.

EDIT: Another realization: I am definitely not as attractive as I think I am (outside of maybe veeeerrry specific angles/makeup), but there must be something that makes up for it, all things considered. But any time I see myself on video I feel like I look hugely gawky and cringe. Don't think I can separate that yet from self-perception/opinion stuff, though.

Same here, although I think I'm unattractive most of the time. Razz

Also as a filmmaker, I feel ya on not being able to see myself on video. I think a lot people cringe at themselves when they're on video, so you're not alone there. I know I cringe at myself when I'm on video. Razz

I have somewhat fuller lips and a little bit of a small mouth so it makes my mouth look fucking stupid and when I talk I look even funnier. So, yeah, you're not alone. :3

What is it about talking on the phone that makes it so much more stressful, difficult, anxiety-inducing, and just plain awkward than any other form of communication? As shy and socially awkward as I am in general, I still vastly prefer face-to-face conversation versus talking on the phone. I know quite a few other people who have similar phone anxieties, so I'm curious as to what it is about phone communication that singles it out as this subclass of social interaction that can cause such unique discomfort. Is it just the absence of facial cues/body language that is somehow disconcerting to the mind?

For me it is a lot of things:

I personally have a hard time tuning out what other people are saying, at any given time. So sometimes I am unintentionally/"naturally" an eavesdropper, which makes me awkwardly paranoid about what others hear. At the same time, I worry about being too loud/disruptive, by participating in something that people around me have to hear but can't participate in.
It's hard to do anything "naturally" via phone: I can't inch toward the door to signal that I'm ready to say goodbyes and leave; I can't look toward, or away from, people, to signal where my attention is focused.
I sometimes have trouble truly paying attention to a phone conversation; because it is "just" audio, I find myself getting distracted by visual stuff. It's particularly bad if my parents are calling about something relatively mundane and there's a game or something from work in front of me: I have to constantly consciously choose to focus on what is frankly the least interesting thing in my environment. I have literally fallen asleep while on the phone with my (thankfully very understanding) dad.
Even when I am paying full attention, I don't always have anything to say. But the only way to signal the equivalent of nodding and mimicking body language over the phone is by repeated "uh-huh"s, which starts to feel kind of fakey even if you're sincere.

As weirdly only-partway-engaging as these conversations are, they're also kind of all-or-nothing, in the sense that you either are on the line with someone or aren't. So the moment before you initiate a phone call, you aren't interacting with them at all. They don't know you're going to call them. You don't know how long it will take them to answer, or whether they're ready to talk. Then you pull the trigger and suddenly everyone, including you, expects for there to be a conversation.
