Re: orange
Here we go
- E13:
-Them joking about writing letters to erase their regret at not making chocolates for Suwa and Hagita kind of got me in the feelings, with Suwa's standing there maybe wondering if he'll regret a future where he's not with Naho and Naho's scared she won't manage to give the chocolates to Kakeru and will regret it in this future too.
-Also, poor Hagita and Suwa get no chocolates
-the teacher talking about historical relay message-passing/their baton relay race/Naho can't get out the message to Kakeru/the messages from the future into the past. SYMBOLISM!
-Naho throwing off bully-sempai with her total determination and unfazedness. She's going to give him those chocolates even if she has to wipe them off the ground to do it!
-She even left him a note. She's totally doing it!
- "I don't need it." Ouch. And yikes.
-Future Naho echoing her words.
-Naho just holding onto him. And then he puts his arm around her too
-Hagita's got a box of chocolates, who's it from!? Is the ship happening secretly?
-"This world exists so Kakeru can be happy." Suwa
-Kakeru asks her to eat lunch. FUTURE CHANGED!!!
-Hagita giving Kakeru his old glasses as a good luck charm is pretty weird but also adorable.
-Naho bentou
-She even spits out that he's hot with his shirt off
-Awww, Hagita just silently hugging him
-THE PHONE
-THE TRUCK!
-NOOOOO DON'T BE DEAD
-NOT DEAD!!! NOT DEAD!!
-He gets letters from their futures selves
-Hagita trashed his bike just in case
-Suwa denying there's a future where he and Naho are married And then admitting it would be nice There's no perfect future
We...did it? Mostly.

E13
Double episodeeeee
Double episodeeeee
- Spoiler:
- Naho steeling herself like it's a new episode of Boku Dake
- Hagita and Suwa are destroyed that they're not getting any chocolate
- "Write a letter about in the future" HAGITA
- Kakeru walked right on by
- "I won't go out with anyone." Uh oh
- "Change the future. Good luck." >: ]
- ... Did Suwa slip that note into his locker so he wouldn't leave and that's why he wasn't worried about her not catching up with him?
- He opened up ;_;
- OKAY, everything went fine, let's just pretend that Kakeru finds the phone but it breaks before he can read anything and the other 30 minutes are just Hagita and Azu pretending not to get together and then Suwa moping around until he trips and accidentally falls into the arms of whatserface and she's all "I am strong enough to hold you up, but not literally!" and everything ends happily ever after
- I want a Naho lunch
- "You were cool with your shirt off!" Spaghetti Naho spilling her meatballs all over the place
- "Let's destroy his bike" GO WITH PLAN HAGITA
- Future selves gonna do it regardless
- Cell phone event incoming
- Future changed, he left his bike
- He could've jumped in front of that car but didn't
- Truck just passes by Hagita
- LIVES
- Their future selves wrote him letters, RIP my heart ;_;
- BAHAHAHAH HAGITA SAVES THE DAY
- AMBIGUOUS ENDING but I choose to believe Suwa and Naho ended up together anyways and Kakeru did show up that day

We all want Naho lunches Gotta write our past selves a letter telling us to befriend an anime heroine

I took it as a bittersweet 'there's a world where that other part of the happy ending happened, so let's be happy knowing it's out there even if not in this world,' for both parallel worlds.

Only 7 episodes in, but I'm really digging this show so far. I wish there were more sci fi elements, but the slice of life stuff is good too. Kinda wish I had a group of friends that awesome. This show is pretty much just a better version of Your Lie in April, just with Naho as the protag instead of Kakeru.

It really doesn't get much sci fi-er than what you've gotten so far, the creator's heart is clearly in the interpersonal stuff alone. I haven't seen Your Lie in April, but I take it it wasn't that good?

I mean, I love everything time travel related, so the premise of the show is what got me to start watching it. Pretty sad that thats all there is to it, but slice of life/drama shows are cool too.
When it comes to Your Lie in April, you're gonna get some mixed opinions. I feel like its a favorite of those who have only watched less than a handful of anime, and that that was the first tragedy/drama show they watched. My personal grievances are that the main girl is a glorified Manic Pixie Dream Girl, the main character is a worse version of Kakeru, the show is overly poetic, melodramatic and unrealistic (the characters are in middle school, yet sound more sophisticated than the characters in Orange), and the jarring slapstick "comedy" in it (Oh no, he saw my underwear! Time to kick this severely depressed character in the face! Isn't that funny?!) Not to mention the characters either being completely bland or actual terrible people.
I'm probably being biased, and I think that there are actual good parts of the show, but those parts are dashed by the parts I can't stand. I find the melodrama hilarious (even though I don't think those were the parts that were supposed to be comedic). In all, I'd just call the show mediocre, like a 5/10. If you stuck through this random rant, I applaud you, lol.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like something worth my time, though I'm a sucker for time travel too.
