Social Adepts can be downright scary. I accidentally short circuited a big fight scene by using the Commanding Voice power (which is cheap to buy) to tell the bad guy's minions "kill him!". It only lasted one round but it only needed to. Even one round at a time and even with increasing thresholds, someone who literally commands the mob is something from a horror movie.

OK, so no promises yet that I'm going to run it but. . .
I set up an http://www.apocalypse-world.com game on rpol at the request of a friend. Reading through the playbook collection on the website should give anyone who's interested a pretty good idea what's going on. In my experience, AW is a very story focused, high action system where the mechanics actually help instead of getting in the way. If you're interested, drop an RTJ and mention you're from Nerdlounge so I can keep track separate from the rabble of rpol. Smile
