OLD successess/good stories

I just met someone last night, and we really hit it off! We hung out for about 3 hours, had a walk in a (populated but natural) park, went for dinner, and talked a lot. We had good chemistry. I was able to be myself/feel at ease and safe, and felt spontaneous and whimsical. I smiled so much my cheeks hurt, both during the date, and during our phone call tonight. I don't know yet whether things will work out for a relationship yet, but it was definitely a lot of fun! Anyone else have good dates/other experiences to share?

I think most my OLD stories have been good, even if very few led to offline dates... many of them have taught me something, or inspired me to do things I wouldn't have thought about otherwise (like revisit books and shows we've been talking about). Some have been nice fif brief flirtations. One has become long distance friend and penpal Actually when I think of it, with this many good stories when I haven't been too serious about OLD, I'm looking forward to the day when I do get serious.

Kind of out of nowhere, after several weeks of not changing anything about my profile, I suddenly have...three women as penpals, each of whom is separately an interesting person with at least an intellectual interest in me and a tendency toward emotional openness that none of us seem to be really getting elsewhere.

And now I've had my first first date. And my first second date. And it seems like probably more from here, too, despite all my fuckups along the way. One of these times I might even touch 'er hand or something.

Incidentally, turns out a single person having that much interest in me, even if it's only for now, is actually super affirming and encouraging. So there.

I think the guy who I thought of as a casual rebound (and who I met online) and I are...actually dating. We're much more compatible than I'd initially thought. I doubt it will get very serious given that my life isn't all that stable these days, but it's nice.

Had a very pleasant coffee and chat with someone from OLD Because I'm me, I've no idea if anything more than friendship was intended, but then, affection and attraction are pretty close to each other with me anyway. And I got some reassurance about social and conversational skills, get-to-know-each-other skills, and how to ease of those things tends to correlate with compatibility.

So I went for a casual coffee date with a guy from OKC two weeks ago, and after a really great second date the following week, it just keeps getting better. Tomorrow he's cooking me dinner at my place, and then stuffed french toast the next morning. He went to culinary school, so he knows what he's doing in the cooking department, too. He's not quite the physical type I usually go for, but he is just so sweet and generous and goofy that I now think he's super adorable. Depending on whether we get the snow of doom this weekend, I'll take him to a dinosaur exhibit with some of my friends, or we'll have a snuggly snowed in at jcorozza's apartment weekend. I feel very lucky, and excited for my special dinner!

This girl on OKC and I exchanged messages about getting together basically just for a casual hook-up. Our first "date" was just hanging out at the local mall to ensure that we were compatible and to demonstrate to each other that we didn't seem like a serial killer. Our second "date" was us, well, hooking up. Neither of us ever planned on it being anything more than "friends with benefits" at MOST, and probably just an available "booty call" whenever one of us was horny.

Here we are, ten years later, still going strong, and the relationship is definitely more than just FWB, so I guess that's a success.
