The mom of this year's litter was one of the puppies we saw when we were at Denali.
I will never be bored by national park stories. Denali is on my national park bucket list and might have just moved to the top.

Re: Joys and Good News
I was working on a poem that I've been struggling with for years, and I think I've got it now
Re: Joys and Good News
Last night I woke up in a panic attack from a nightmare and found my head flooded with intrusive thoughts and disturbing images that I couldn't get out. So at 2 am I woke up my sleeping boyfriend next to me and he lead me through some soothing guided imagery until I was able to calm down and go to sleep. That in and of itself is really wonderful, but this is a man who has never used guided imagery before, doesn't have any experience in it and was also half asleep the entire time, so much so that he didn't even remember doing it when he woke up in the morning! Anyway it was just a really wonderful moment of my partner just getting and being really respectful of my mental health issues that I feel really grateful for.

I was so sure I was going to hit a cone during the 2-point turn and I came SO CLOSE to it. I am so damn relieved now!!

Two nieces are even better than one, and there's something to be said for pictures of new sleeping babies to calm the wrath that follows political debates.

Just discovered another bird whose name in another language is Martin. I can now be a kingfisher as well as a swallow.

Tentative joy. My husband got a new job. Fingers crossed and knock on wood that it will work out and be something lasting.
Because, right now, we don't have to move and sell our dream house.
*fingers crossed*

Laser signals of possible artificial origin discovered at 234 different locations in the sky. May very possibly be something other than aliens... may not belong in "joys and good news" if it is. But I'm a little excited about it anyway...
Re: Joys and Good News
Boyfriend and I got approved for our apartment! It's dog friendly, and we've both been wanting a dog for ages. I may have started snooping on petfinder already. Oh, and we got approved to adopt some rat babies from a local rescue (which is extra nice because one of my older boys died, most likely from a tumor, Monday. At least he will get to hang with his brother). I feel super adulty.

A magazine article I was interviewed for came out, and they ended up using my quotes to open, close, and advertise the issue. Embarrassed-proud.

That's cuz Werel is just full of wisdom. ;D
In other Joys and Good News, I started my new job at my TV station. I'm a photojournalist now. Drawback is I may see some not so nice shit. But hey, that's the nature of the business.

All these stories about Donald Trump getting you down? Here is a completely different story about quite possibly the slowest police car chase ever that might just make you laugh.

More free tickets. Tickets to stuff I could go to for free anyway. Welp, more of an excuse to drag people along.

Re: Joys and Good News
I am grateful for the phenomenal insurance my husband's new job gets him. And the fact that I presciently chose the right plan for expensive chronic medical conditions a week before our little one was diagnosed T1.
I'm sure there are better and/or less expensive plans out there, but I've never personally had or seen one, so my mouth keeps dropping open at how little we're paying for big ticket things.
(Fingers crossed my husband can keep his job and his insurance doesn't change in the coming 4+ years.)
