Re: Rants
You ask whether you can pet the bunny. Sure, she enjoys that.
You ask whether you can hold the bunny. I tell you no, she doesn't like that.
When I enter the room later on, you lifted the bunny into your arms and have the gall to look at me proudly and say "look, I managed!" after which she immediately almost jumps out of your arms and I had to grab her to get her back into her cage, which was blind luck that I managed that, because. The. Bunny. Doesn't. Like. To. Be. Held.
I only remember now you did this before. Next time you do it, I don't think I want to hang out with you again. People will choose your side, obviously, because He Who Causes Drama Must Be Shunned, but guess what? I'll be moving in a few months, so I wouldn't be seeing you guys as much as I do now anyway.
First time in ages I got almost furious while in real life company. That's actually quite the accomplishment you made there.

Ugh, I'm sorry, azazel (for you, but more for the bunny). I wouldn't blame you if you don't want to interact with this person again - I'm super angry when people treat my pet disrespectfully.

I'm just perplexed people think this is okay?
I mean, I love animals. In trains when I see a cute dog, I want to pet it. But the first thing I do is ask the owner if the dog likes petting by strangers and/or is not too stressed out by public transport. For me it's as natural as breathing, because you simply do not know how living things react to stimuli (unless you're their owner, then you have a pretty good idea).
But I shouldn't really be surprised considering that human boundaries are already hard to grasp for a subset of the population, let alone animal ones. I just thought I didn't have friends like that.
People might be confusing my attitudes about my material possessions (pretty damn lax) with my attitudes about my living possessions (don't lift the fucking rabbit to heights that she might injure herself when trying to escape).
At least I calmed down again. It coincided with a general Angry!Azazel episode, but now I'm feeling more annoyed than really angry.

Re: Rants
It is perfectly alright to be annoyed and angry at this since someone a) blew through your boundary b) blew through the boundary of a pet and cause him/her stress c) was an unapologetic asshat.
Me, they would never set foot in my house again and if they asked why I would tell them that people who do not respect my rules and mistreat my animals are not welcome.

The worst part about the more rabid social justice advocates is that they're so good at making people educate themselves out of spite. Everybody wants to prove them wrong, so they dive into world history, psychology, activist writing and so on and so forth for counterarguments. I now have an extra inner critic monitoring my thoughts and behaviours for "will this give the fuckers ammo against me" and it's good, hilarious and sad at the same time.

I frequent imgur repositories with stupid posts so my views are skewed, but stuff like "blue balls doesn't exist" and "Rosetta Stone didn't sit in the back of the bus for this" is still unbelievably dumb.

Re: Rants
Dear Norton 360
When you and I first got together as part of a special deal when I got this new computer, it was great. You ran smoothly and you caught some nasty stuff that I wouldn't have even noticed, and for a while I thought that the guy who sold me the computer was right about you being much better than you were in previous years.
However, your behaviour has been rather disturbing lately. First, you seemed to have a problem with Google Chrome as you periodically would not let me browse the internet with it. Now I don't mind using Firefox for most things, but when it comes to playing online games and listening to my Youtuberepeat playlist, Firefox can't seem to handle it, so I have had to enter your firewall settings and tell you not to do that again.
Speaking of firewall settings, it appears that, whenever I try to change the firewall setting for a specific program, you will freeze up and not do anything. When I try to use the standard procedure of Ctrl+Alt+Del and use Windows Task Manager to shut you down, you resist and remain inoperable until I restart the computer.
Finally, sometimes I will tell you to open and you will think about it for a bit before deciding against it, and you will refuse to open no matter how many times I ask until, again, I restart the computer. Just because Steam does that sometimes doesn't mean it's OK for you to. In fact, it's worse that you decide to, because while Steam stubbornly refusing to open just means I cannot play certain games or buy certain games, you not opening means I cannot deal with any nasty threats that may be on my computer.
As an act of generosity, I will give you until the end of November to clean up your act, right the wrongs, make amends, what have you. Failure to do so will result in your removal from the system and I will use avast! instead.
Sincerely yours,
Robjection

I have no problem with taking a handicapped person to the freight elevator in the back of the building since the elevator is out of order, but I am not a bellhop. If you want those smoke breaks so bad you need to walk your high-heeled feet up and down those stairs and stop expecting us to open and close that heavy ass door (or run up to another floor and close the elevator doors) just because you're supposedly an asthmatic.

OMG, Friend's parents. You take up almost as much space in my head as my own do because of how much trouble you cause Friend. At least you sometimes make me grateful my own family problems aren't so terrible in comparison. But can you maybe consider not being hilarious parody movie villains for a month or two? I don't know about your kids, but I'd appreciate it.

Rant A: Midcontinent, if you're not running fast enough for fucking World of Warcraft, which can probably be run a toaster oven, you are not doing a good job of providing high speed internet service.
Rant B: OMG OMG OMG Friend's parents, you are possibly the worst people in the world. When you threaten to go to someone's workplace to teach them a lesson? Um. When you think there's a middle ground on that? Also, um. You are terrible, and should't be allowed to have contact with either Friend or Friend's barely-past-being-a-minor sibling.

Thanks. Virtual besos back. I am pretty sure he has blown through his 50% of our settlement and realized that without my income he can no longer live in the manner he is accustomed to, which got him thinking of me, which never is a good thing.
Can you believe he saw I was speaking at a conference and called the flipping hotel? Mind you we are damned near 4 years divorced.

Jesus, what the hell for?
You know what really grinds my gears? When at work (I work in a college computer lab) people hog up an entire row of computers (there's 7 to 8 PCs in a row) to play fucking League of Legends. I shudder typing out the title to that awful game. Add insult to injury, these people don't shut the fuck up, this is a goddamn study area! Please!

I kinda thought the "1 in 5 women are raped" stat was common knowledge at this point, yet when I used the stat in an essay, both the teacher and a student who was critiquing my paper were shocked and questioned it (though it didn't affect my grade, I got a high A). Sometimes it's easy to forget how self-selected the bubbles you live in are, especially on the internet.

Even Starcraft II, which has a reputation for drawing a more mature audience, is still has a disproportionate number of assholes in the community compared to the fandoms of sports teams.
