Re: Rants
Intern asshole: I am so glad I am no longer in a car with you and you showed your true colors in front of your supervisor. I have never met someone who summed up every negative trait of the Millennial generation as well as a few extra bad characteristics for good measure. I would normally not be thrilled that someone lost their internship in the first week, but in your case, yep, thrilled. A week traveling with you was a circle of hell.

- TW: Revenge porn:
Sooo... you come to our site to ask if it's illegal to keep nude pictures of a 15 year old girl if you're underage yourself that's been going round the school?
...And you seriously expect another answer than "Dude, whether it's legal or not is irrelevant, you shouldn't have them in the first place"?
Fuck you and fuck your stupid teacher who told your class law enforcement wouldn't come after you. Way to get your priorities straight and look out for vulnerable students buddy.
We seriously can't manage to teach children to do unto others as they would like others to do unto them?- TW:Pedofilia:
And I'm also insulted that everyone who stumbles on our forum seems to think we're child porn law experts. If you have no interest in breaking the law/ethical codes in general, how the fuck should you know about all the gray areas?

Re: Rants
When people in the media talk about millennials, they're usually referring to the early half of the generation (late-20s to mid-30s), and usually obsessing about college-educated "hipsters" working low-paying non-STEM "creative class" jobs in trendy coastal cities. Basically, the kind of millennials a Bos-NYC-Was journalist would interact with. It's annoying, there's so much more variety! We're not all poor 30 year-olds writing freelance articles online from a studio apartment in Washington, DC!
This reveals the flaws in the whole concept of a generation, I suppose.

Balls.
It seems that my "fan" has rediscovered how to downvote everything that I post. And there I was hoping that changing my username on Intensedebate had fucked up his little game.
I should just request people downvote me instead if they agree!! heheehehe

Oops, sorry! I can take it down if you like.

Yeah, some may get a disproportional amount of spotlight and credit for what is in fact a movement, but on the other hand they're pretty effective and they go out of their way to clarify their expenses. You produce nothing but vitriol at others while wanting to get money for simply existing. Go find a way to campaign for universal basic income that doesn't consist of attacking people followed by meltdowns the moment they talk back if you're so hung up on the latter.

Dear networks. How come when the shooter is white he has mental issues but when the shooter isn't white he's a terrorist?
This was a terroristic act, make no mistake about it.

A pet-peeve of mine: titles to articles or blog posts that are written as if they were answering a question, like "yes, X is Y" or "no, X is not in fact Y".

OK, are you sure those new cloths under the sink are suitable for doing the dishes? Because I used one tonight and it was pathetic! Where and when can we get some of the old ones again?

Why advise people to read something by someone who immediately makes a really dodgy and dangerous claim? Fuck the utility of whatever that something is, it's not the only fucking example of it so pick something else.

Extinction bursts do not apply to society, history is not Hegelian, your philosophical ancestors were more radical than you, accusations of someone wanting power are stupid because of course you need power to matter in politics, Red Tribe and Blue Tribe are culturally dominant in different spheres and trying to calculate that countrywide instead of locally is a near-impossible task, and no, these are not red herrings when you write an article that uses an issue as a jumping-off point for a meandering analysis of the country that takes up 80% of said article.

Re: Rants
Great-aunts talking about the music of their religion. "Hallelujah" comes up. The one by Leonard Cohen.
"Haha, yeah, isn't it funny how church choirs will actually perform that one, with all the original verses?"
"Well, no, I don't think so, it's a lovely song."
(Open mouth, insert foot.)
At least they continued to not get it, so nobody was actually offended.

Re: Rants
Thanks for the damn disappointment, doctor.
Why does everything have to align so perfectly before I can come in and get a fucking procedure done that's supposed to only take 20 minutes? All of these requirements are not going to happen simultaneously; we're going to be having this same problem next month, and the month after that, and so on :grrr:

So its turns out that the splitting headache I've had for the last two days is caused by stress. The problem is that the headache is also the source of a lot of stress. Nice to know when even your body is behaving like a total scumbag to you (because the intrusive worries and thought weren't fun enough).

Have you tried going to sleep with a cold washcloth over your forehead. Help me with migraines, sinus headaches and general stress headaches. . . I get a lot of headaches.

I haven't, and I will. Thanks for the tip!

Huh, my mom used to do this for us when we were sick. It always felt really nice, but I never knew exactly why it helped. I just always figured it was something about the magical rituals of childhood sickness (chicken soup, saltine crackers, 7Up were what you ate when you were sick), so it makes me feel good now because of nostalgia.

Re: Rants
Why the fuck do people say 'give me a hug'? Seriously, and it's almost always women that do it but men certainly aren't innocent either, they specifically ask for a hug.
What the hell am I supposed to say to that?
"Sorry, no thanks, I am petrified by touching other people"?
"I'm really on edge here at this party tonight, don't touch me"?
Do I looked like a sad fuck and I need to hug? It might explain why people seem to ask for the damn things.

Personally the only time I do it is when I've just gotten soaked on a log flume while my friend who didn't go on is dry as a bone.
No prizes for guessing why.
