Re: Interesting personality tests
I'm only 58% Jeremy Corbyn. I think my beard choice harmed my results But I'm 100% not knowledgeable enough about UK politics to get this test. Fun questions anyway, though!

Re: Interesting personality tests
I think I saw someone once refer to Corbyn as a British equivalent of Bernie Sanders if that's any help.Enail wrote:I'm only 58% Jeremy Corbyn. I think my beard choice harmed my results But I'm 100% not knowledgeable enough about UK politics to get this test. Fun questions anyway, though!

Re: Interesting personality tests
You could always try the UCLA Loneliness Scale. Let's see where I fit...
For reference, the highest possible score is 40.
You scored a total of 38
Extreme Loneliness
You answered this quiz consistent with people who are suffering from extreme and severe loneliness.
A certain amount of loneliness is a normal part of most people's lives. But when your feelings of loneliness can become a bit overwhelming or more serious than usual -- like now -- it may be a sign that something isn't quite balanced in your life.
You may find that you could benefit by trying to reach out to others in your life -- right now. A close friend or family member whom you trust and talk to can go a long way in helping to relieve feelings of loneliness in many people.
For reference, the highest possible score is 40.

I wish the advice that quiz gave were more useful than vague, Pagliacci.
...I got a 14. I don't even have "normal loneliness"

Looks like I'm a 27. That's about what I would have suspected, as sometimes I'm lonely and feel a lack of people around me or difficulty connecting with ones I might want to get to know better, other times I'm more of a loner who's not necessarily all that interested in others around me, and still other times I can be pretty social and enjoy the friendships in my life.

Re: Interesting personality tests
I'm 19, which is about what I'd expect, given that I have a few people that I'm very close to and generally prefer a lot of alone time otherwise, but also have lost some friends lately and am expecting a few more to be a bit less accessible in the near future, and am not really at a place where I'm up for much effort into making new ones.

Re: Interesting personality tests
I got 28: Moderate Loneliness
Which seems about right, although I object to them using Facebook in the mix. I deliberately have a low number of Facebook friends for privacy reasons.
The description gave me the exact same second two paragraphs as Pagliacci's for Extreme Loneliness, so that's not very useful.

Re: Interesting personality tests
Pretty much this minus that last bit. I got the same score but, considering my current lack of friendships, I'm surprised I didn't score higher. Maybe I just have more of those times when I'm a loner who's not all that interested in others around me.eselle28 wrote:Looks like I'm a 27. Re: Interesting personality tests
I got normal loneliness, mostly because being alone does not bother me, I know I could talk to someone if I wanted to (even if it was a stranger), etc..

Re: Interesting personality tests
Got a 22 on the Lonely Scale. Should those of us who scored kinda high on that be worried about this? I don't mind being alone though sometimes the loneliness does get unbearable.

Re: Interesting personality tests
Since it's based on a few questions you answered, I don't think it's telling you anything you don't already know. so if you're worried otherwise, sure, be worried, if you're not, why bother?

Re: Interesting personality tests
I'm an 18.
Makes sense. I an generally comfortable in my own shoes. I have a few close friends so I always feel I can reach out to someone.
I do sometimes feel shut out of things so that bumped up my score. But that is partly my lack of action and I am a bit of a loner in some people's eyes.
The Facebook question is a bit rough although I have quite a high number of friends for someone of my personality type and views on privacy.
FWIW I answered it all in about 30 seconds rather than the average 3 minutes.. And I've always thought of myself as the ultimate second-guesser.

Re: Interesting personality tests
What I think is weird is that I scored normal loneliness because it has been at least, 3 years since I felt lonely and really enjoy (and look forward to) my alone time. I should have had a much lower score

Re: Interesting personality tests
I have a problem with them conflating being alone and loneliness. Like, I am never alone. I have a baby to take care of. But that doesn't mean I can't be lonely. Because I don't have anyone else to talk to in-person really besides my husband. And it's not fair to make him my sole support like that.
Being alone and being lonely are not the same thing. They can go hand in hand, but not necessarily.

Aye, isn't there an expression about being lonely in a crowd or something?

Re: Interesting personality tests
There is. Which relates to what I was talking about.
But there's also the flip side that being alone doesn't have to mean you're lonely. Some people value solitude, but it doesn't make them feel lonely, you know?

And that would be me. I am often alone, but very, very, very rarely feel lonely, something this quiz did not differentiate at all. I enjoy my alone time, be it alone by myself or alone in a crowd. Cruising along and doing my own thing is how I unwind

Self-knowledge quiz This one claims to find themes that are prominent in your personality.
I got Loyalty, Rationality, Independence. Which is a pretty good fit, but awfully general, so

Hey, I've actually watched a couple of their videos on YouTube.
I got Tenderness, Shyness and Aggression. Hmmm, they seem somewhat contradictory...

Re: Interesting personality tests
I checked that one out and I got Rationality, Reverence and Shyness. There were occasions though when I felt like none of the answers really fit me. For example, when it came to the question about getting a bad grade, the only thing I recall feeling was ... well, I don't know if it was acceptance or indifference but it certainly wasn't any of the options presented to me.

Re: Interesting personality tests
I got Rationality, Shyness and Sensitivity. While not completely mind blowing, it's pretty accurate. Though under the Shyness entry, this showed up which is also pretty accurate of me from time to time.

Re: Interesting personality tests
I got Neediness, Rationality, and Aggression. That makes me feel super awesome about myself. Think I'll go have a hefty drink now.
Also, it'd be nice if they had a different name for Neediness that was less negative. The description didn't strike me as "neediness."
Whatever.

Re: Interesting personality tests
Reverence, shyness, sensitivity. This actually feels very accurate, even more so when I read their descriptions of what they mean by these words. I'd like to see the rest of them though, to find out if these are actually more accurate than the alternatives.
One way of judging accuracy might be to see which of the links feel like they might interest you. By this measure these still seem accurate, shyness less so than the others.
