Re: Attack on Titan
Final Season E4
THAT WAS A FUCKING EPISODE
- Spoiler:
- "FUFUFUFU WE'LL SEE HOW POPS PLANTED THIS EVIL NATIONALISM IN YOU but actually it's just my daddy issues and jealousy seeing you have a happy family life"
- Whoops, Grisha felt bad about what he did to Zeke too
- Yo, Grisha is tripping balls but he also had the founding Titan so he could probably brain time travel too
- Zeke: "Well shit, guess I was wrong the whole time."
- Grisha was looking straight at Eren when he locked that desk
- I miss young Eren.
- Yo, he's fucking looking right at old Eren when he's talking, god damn
- The fucking look in Eren's eyes as he's watching Grisha beg the Founding Titan to save them
- He's calling Mikasa his daughter too, no?
- Grischa saw Eren's fucking rage
- Zeke's mind is getting absolutely fucking blown right now
- YO FUCKING WHAT GRISHA DIDN'T DO IT
- EREN WHAT THE FUCK
- Zeke starting to realize who the real enemy is
- Holy fucking shit, Grisha just hugged Zeke
- He's fucking telling him to stop Eren
THAT WAS A FUCKING EPISODE

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E4/E79
S5E5/E80
- Spoiler:
-"He sure looks happy," Zeke says about a guy who's current expression is "oh god, this tiny, fragile thing won't stop screaming and I don't know how to not accidentally murder it, what have I gotten myself into?!"
-Zeke being salty about the fact that his father who he betrayed to the fantasy-Nazis, causing him to be tortured and watch his wife be turned into a horrifying cannibal monster, has a life without him. Like, what would have been the alternative here?
-The "see how you've been brainwashed" plan isn't going so well
-Eren coldly making him go on to the next memory while he's freaking out. Even if I wish we were back to cool Titan stuff instead of the Zeke Zeke Zeke psychology show and it's annoying how hard they're pushing "Eren is cool," I'm still enjoying Eren flatly destroying all Zeke's beliefs, his tone is so neutral the neutrality itself is vicious.
-feels kinda silly that the royal family believes basically the same as Zeke. It's a nutso position that you can only believe Zeke would fall for because he's deeply fucked up by his parents and then lovebombed by the Marleyans.
-Things going different from what's expected and Zeke just about having a nervous breakdown about the past being different from how it's supposed to and/or his daddy issues
-disappointing that the reason Grisha knew what would happen and Eren gets glimpses of the future is just answered with "that's a power the Attack Titan has, for no particular reason."
-OMG, Future Eren is the one who talked him into going through with it, holy fuck
-this time-fuck intersection of past and future talking to each other and influencing each other
-Grisha kind of seeing Zeke but even while he's talking to him he's looking to the side like he's just guessing where he is.
-But he found him to fucking hug him, holy shit!
-and now Grisha wants Zeke to stop Eren and Eren's the bad guy again. Can we just fucking make up our minds who's the overly awesome but horrifyingly evil mastermind and who's the one we're supposed to root for but they might also be trying too hard to make us think they're an awesome mastermind so we only halfways do? On the one hand, Zeke is just so annoying, but otoh, I'm annoyed at the way Eren spent three seasons as an angry hothead who needed Armin for any good plans and all of a sudden he's a long game mastermind. You kind of can't be both a mastermind and a creature of pure blind rage in the way that Eren-Titan has always seemed to be.
-To be fair, it is pretty cool and dramatic that Grisha saw what Eren would do with the Founding Titan and was so horrified by it he completely flips sides and wants to foil his own long-game.
There's some cool stuff there but I'm having trouble getting into it because a lot of what they're doing is the same kind of jerking us around about who's on what side and which one's good and which bad that last season did constantly and unconvincingly (and sometimes incoherently). Even though they're doing it way better, I'm still burnt out on believing anything they suggest about who's the worst because I'm totally expecting them to swap it out again in five minutes.
S5E5/E80
- Spoiler:
-they're making out like Eren knew what would happen if he could get into the Coordinate through Zeke, and it technically works, since Attack Titan can let him see the future, but doesn't feel like something you can just be like "oh, by the way, he's basically been a god of future knowledge/manipulating the past since you saw him get a few confusing glimpses of the future that don't seem that informative a couple of seasons back."
-Eren raging to break his chains till he rips his thumb right off to get free, now this feels like real Eren
-'A kind girl who always thinks of others' doesn't in any way get across why not to drip snot
-overlaying Historia's image of 'kind and always thinks of others' with Ymir who's now chained to other peoples' will, and then with whatever they're about to develop of the living Ymir.
-"you're free" means being mutilated, hunted down and killed, very thematic
-that incredibly prehistoric-looking creature that gives her her powers
-original Ymir's Titan is really cool, that gaping ribcage and skull-face
-eugh, dark-haired, rapacious Eldians who enslave and use the one blond girl (who may or may not even be an Eldian herself) as breeding stock, even her getting the Titan powers was purely to protect herself from other Eldians and is solely used by them to attempt to annihilate the Marleyans who didn't do anything to them. I'm having trouble seeing how this could play into anything that doesn't end up making the whole show a stealth antisemitic fable after all.
-Kind of interesting that the Eldians are forcing their slaves to build Greek-style temples, given that the story of Chanukah involves Jews being forced to adopt Greek culture and religion.
-jumps in front of the spear to protect the evil king, Stockholm syndrome, I guess
-And for some reason dies, maybe just lack of will to keep going
-chopping her to pieces and forcing her kids to eat them, the start of the Titans' cannibalism, that works really well
- except how did the king know that eating the Titan's spine would transfer the power???
-Her daughters are Maria, Rose and Shina
-Eren trying to transfer his rage for freedom to Ymir
-woah, the original prehistoric creature growing out of Eren's severed head as a spine, this is badass
-THE FUCKING WALLS
-oh boy, he's gonna destroy everything other than Paradis. Not sure why Ymir is down with that, actually, since apparently all her problems are with Eldians.
Okay, this episode was genuinely really awesome, other than the whole part about it looking like this is all going to have been massively antisemitic after all. Which I can't really ignore. There's enough to come still that I'm going to keep watching and hope somehow it'll overturn that again, but I feel kind of sick at putting this much time in something like what this is seeming likely to be.

Re: Attack on Titan
Final Season E5
- Spoiler:
- Grisha vs whatshername looks goofy as fuck
- Presumably Eren blocks out the visions/memories of the walls coming down because if he didn't, Grisha would've never gone through with any of it
- Eren's still cool like a cucumber but then forgot that Zeke's still got Ymir on his side
- Gross, he pull himself out of the stocks
- So whenever "he's a kind man/girl/whatever" comes up in anime, it doesn't sound like it translates quite the way it's meant to. Like English version of kindness is someone being nice and thoughtful and compassionate and whatever to people, whereas the Japanese version always sounds like it also means there's a degree of self-sacrifice involved in it
- Kill'em all, Ymir
- Ymir's Titan is spooky as fuck
- This backstory is pretty silly, like edgy-to-be-edgy
- Maria and Rose were the names of two of the walls
- YEAH KILL'EM ALL YMIR
- TITANS BACK IN BUSINESS, BABY
- YEAH, KILL'EM ALL EREN I guess?
I wouldn't blame you if you stopped watching it either way. The action is nice and the few times they touch back on the glory days is nice but shit got really dumb once we found out what was beyond the ocean

- Spoiler:
I don't remember what word they used, but I'm guessing it was probably "yasashii," which has more of a connotation of gentleness - potentially shading into doormat-ness; tenderness - including in the sense of vulnerability, like, a bit of a feel that you're susceptible to the needs or suffering of others, I think; and I guess a very Japanese-style considerateness, maybe? I wouldn't say it's specifically got anything about self-sacrifice to it so much as that a Japanese idea of considerateness does put more weight on self-sacrifice than the English idea of it does.

- Yeah, I'm not counting on them doing too much right at this point, even though I was hopeful for an episode or two. But I kind of feel like I've come this far, I've gotta at least keep on and hold out for the (possibly slim chance of) a great final fight. Also, I've got to admit it'd bug me to not know if they really are pulling that antisemitism thing or if they're somehow going to steer out of it again.

Re: Attack on Titan
Final Season E6
- Spoiler:
- So Eren's going to save all of the Subjects of Ymir by killing the shit out of them too
- Damn, Connie wants his mom back and fuck everyone else
- Still Ben and Mia to them ;_;
- Fucking hell yeah, Shadis-sensei
- Awww Pixis
- Eh, probably just throw Floch out the window
- Eyyyyyy Annie
Well, I'm sure something of import happened, maybe

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E6/E81
- Spoiler:
-just occurred to me that announcement was only to Eldians, so the Marleyan troops must be incredibly confused right now
-I'd actually like the intro song pretty well if it had less metal screaming or managed to pull it off better, the way they did it lands up sounding silly instead of badass
-Gabby wants none of your spending-4-seasons-trying-to-give-up-and-yet-failing bullshit, Reiner, she's got shit to do
-the scout buddies just sitting on a rooftop trying to decide how they feel about genociding vs. being genocided
-Connie's mom is still around?? I assumed they killed all those titans a couple of seasons ago! Oh god, and he's been having to see her like that all this time, that's so horrifying (his suddenly going rogue and grabbing Falco here would have worked better if they'd shown that before now instead of bringing it in out of nowhere, though)
-all the massive titans marching in the background while the four of them have no choice to focus on the little ones surrounding them, echoing what Armin said about how killing Falco would just make things worse by hurting Reiner & co; seems like a cue that the little picture still matters as much as the big one.
-Gabi taking out Titans with a rifle, she really is a badass
-Kaya seeing Gabi as big sister Sasha
-this music's more 80s training montage than badass fight scene
-Pyxis (why are some titans so recognizable who they were and some are completely not?)
-I could just watch Mikasa absolutely destroying everything in her path for hours
-Wasn't Flock on Yelena's side two seconds ago? While everyone else is kind of just "welp, let's kill some titans and figure out what to do later," he's just all-out embracing a side to the extreme, doesn't much matter what side, just gotta be insane about it
-ANNIE
-omg omg maybe we can still get that Mikasa-Annie fight I'd finally given up all hope we'd ever get!!! Give me that fight, do it properly, and I swear I'll stop complaining about all the dumb shit

S5E7
- Spoiler:
- Damn, Annie's a shell of her former self, you might not get your fight with Mikasa
- Aw man, Mr. Leonhart was a dick but then he regretted everything later and then Annie seemed to regret things enough that she wants to just get back to him somehow
- "Just let me die, I'm too old to shit outdoors" is funny as fuck to me
- Sorry to say, Armin, but I would've preferred my guy Erwin too
- Hey Jean, you might want to put Floch down quick
- Awww shit, Hange and Levi gonna kill Pieck-chama
Yeah, I guess things happened or something

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E7/E82
- Spoiler:
-Annie's just trying to get back to the father who tried to turn her into a killing machine until she beat the shit out of him but then he loved her after all, how... heartwarming?
-"I'm too old to shit outdoors" Though it's also pretty sad
-Armin thinks Gabi's the key to ending the cycle, which clearly the writers think too, he might finally be back to being the smart guy!
-wait, "maybe your mom should stay an upside-down titan," is about the worst idea how to convince someone I've ever heard, I take back Armin being smart again
-Mikasa's so lost without an obvious target to slaughter or her people to protect by slaughtering people or someone to tell her what to do when there's no immediate slaughter to be done :\ It works, though.
-and Armin just losing it on her
-Armin finally has his answer to whether he or Erwin should have lived
-feels weird that Flock's the one person Eren told his plan, when he came up as one of those "who is this guy" characters a season or two ago. The character arc they set down for him makes sense from surviving the baseball massacre, but they didn't show any of the middle of the arc to this point so he still feels like halfway a nobody to me (but, like, a scary fanatic nutcase nobody). The main characters are so sidelined.
-"what's so wrong with submission?" Uh, nothing, Flock, it's a lot of fun with people who consent
-Perfect, here's that nice obvious target to slaughter Mikasa needed: Flock. Come on, get at it, Mikasa! Though, it'd be disappointing even if she does because unless they make him way cooler than he should be, it'd be like squashing a mosquito, fanaticism should only take him so far.
-Falco has amnesia now? How soap opera of them.
-Hange's still hilarious
-how can Pieck be outside the titan but still control it?
-Yay, Levi's finally back, I'm hyped for the moment when he suddenly wakes up and kicks everyone's ass while half-dead and possibly with half a face! Though, please don't kill Pieck when he does, I've already gone through her apparently dying like 3 times, just let her live for once. She and Hange would be hilarious together, too.
This isn't bad like last season, and there's moments that are good and some promising setup to maybe have an awesome fight again someday, but it all somehow just feels like "here are some things happening."

- What I was calling for was for them to finally show that fight from when they were in training that they set up in a flashback several seasons ago, but then it got interrupted and they never actually showed us how it went, and it killed me! But failing that, I'd definitely take a current one; I figure Annie being able to go Titan could help balance out the fact she looks like hell right now.

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E8/E83
- Spoiler:
-Hange crying while shooting scouts (I assume Jaegerist ones. Hopefully. She is kind of a loose cannon though, so who knows )
-phew, Levi's still got a face, with it all covered up like that I was expecting something horrifying
-He's lost fingers & can't walk, please don't take away my hope of a badass Levi fight, I don't know how I'll make it through without that
-Woo! Hange Pieck teamup!!!! I might be able to make it after all!
-Getting found out because he talked to himself, good job, Conny
-I'm still shocked by how creepy Conny's Mom Titan is. He's been looking at that face, knowing it's his mom, for years, no wonder he's fucked up
-"Can you help me brush the Titan's teeth?" What the fuck
-"A know-it-all wouldn't get how idiots work"
-Good job, Conny, not sarcastically this time, that would have been a really sad and yet also stupid as fuck way for Armin to die
-Mikasa wants the scarf even though Eren wanted to throw it away
-who is this girl with Mikasa's scarf? It looks like Hitch, maybe but she was with Annie last we saw so I wouldn't think so, I feel kind of guilty having no clue who she is while she's bravely (but fictionally) dying proud of herself for trying to follow in Mikasa's footsteps
-Jean's totally waiting for a moment to take Flock down
-Annie's right fucking next to them
-What the fuck, Jean sacrificed himself for Flock?? I assume Cart Titan didn't actually eat him but just carted him away, but still, why would Jean try to save Flock while directly in the middle of rebelling against him. The only reason that'd make sense is if Jean's somehow already made contact with Hange's group. They didn't really leave much time for that to have happened, but I could still believe this show would sneak it in.
-Flock doesn't get scared until he realizes he doesn't know where Mikasa is
-Yep, there it is, they're all in contact.
-Of course Hange wants to know a Titan's grooming routine
-Everyone teaming up against Eren, maybe next week will be fighting time Though it's just as likely it'll be "explaining why Eren's really the good guy and everyone deciding to change sides and lots of boring talking" time

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E9/E84
- Spoiler:
-Mikasa deciding against Eren all on her own, I'm so proud of her
-I appreciate that they're not wiping out the conflicts between them in this alliance, that they're making it a genuinely hard choice to stand against world genocide, that it means siding with the Marleyans who still think they're monsters who should be genocided and probably giving them the ability to do it, instead
-Hange agrees with us that the history stuff is boring
-Ohhh, Mikasa and co are still figuring there's a third option, not just outright planning to kill Eren. Which they're probably right on, this show is too in love with Eren for me to believe they'll really let it just end with him being killed as the bad guy.
-YES IT'S HAPPENING MIKASA ANNIE FIGHT!!1
-FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
-nOOO, DON'T STOP THEM HANGE
-Aww, rationality and peace win out
-Yelena was secretly a Marleyan. I have zero reaction to this because I've never gotten to care about her at all.
-Jean barely reacts to Reiner admitting he killed Marco, but tries to smash his skull open the moment he starts talking about how he dealt with the guilt. Interesting.
-Gabby and Falco just begging them to help over and over
-It's probably lucky Jean didn't forgive Reiner, I'm not sure Reiner could take that.

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E8
- Spoiler:
- Damn, don't fuck with Hange
- Scarface, bandageface, Levi is going through all the stages of "edgy" at once
- Connie's creeper face when he asks if whatsisface wants to help him brush her teeth. Ah yes, the old "just push him in" trick
- Armin gonna feed himself to Connie's Mom instead?
- Eyyyy, theFreedom ConvoyThe Rumbling finally left town
- Randomly running into Annie at a festival, this is dumb as fuck
- And she quickly finishes a bite of her pie after she's been rumbled
- Pieck just fucking barging in on the execution
- Floch's fear response to suddenly realizing that they've lost track of Mikasa
I was totally intent on watching the second episode right now but I don't think I can sit through two episodes in a row of this right now x_x

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E9
- Spoiler:
- Jean just wants to be an alcoholic dad as a reward for saving the world
- No guys, just let Eren succeed
- I love how Pieck is staying in Cart Titan form by the campfire
- No, they can't kill Eren, that's why you're here, Annie
- So are they setting it ups o Mikasa is the one who kills Eren
- And Eren knows this because memory time travel so he's trying to do things like have the scarf disappear and to convince her she's being controlled so that when the time comes, she'll do it
- The stew that saved the world
- God damn, Reiner losing his mind again and Jean just KOing him
- Jean's walking away and Hange is worried about Jean's stew
- Fucking Levi with the "YOU DAMN KIDS I'M TRYING TO SLEEP"
- Oh that's not good, Floch is holding that secret supporter hostage
I'll call this one of the few good episodes since the time skip, and one of like two or three this season so far.

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E10
- Spoiler:
- Reiner offering to kill the shit out of their friends so they don't have to
- And Hange doesn't give a fuck, she's already killed some anyways
- Oh fuck, that wasn't clouds they were worried about, that was Colossal Titan steam boiling the ocean
- Magath with that guilt over his warrior kids
- Ohoooo trying to stage some tricksy business
- With these doofy faces, obviously no one is going to believe each other
- Ohoooo, Floch figured it out, so maybe Armin figured out that Floch would figure it out and he has planned it out even more
- SHIET IT'S GOIN DOWN
- I dunno man, you shot the Colossal Titan instead of the guy who's just a normal person
- (Uhhh, you won't be safe because maybe the fire and definitely the smoke will kill you)
- Ohhhhh fuck, Reiner and Annie just swooping in

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E10/E85
- Spoiler:
-Seriously, they're gonna sit out the operation rather than risking killing any Jaegerists??That's a little too much on the idealism side for this show at this point. And is outright weird on Mikasa, when back in the day she took like 2 seconds to go from friends to decapitation back when they discovered Reiner was a traitor. Though, I guess you could say she's lost confidence in her ability to tell who to trust and therefore who to murder
-Hange's cool with it, though, she crossed that line ages ago
-I'm kind of on everything Yelena does, her personality is so random-feeling I don't even see her as a real character
-The clouds are actually steam that means Titans will have already destroyed cities across the ocean
-Magrath (?) reversing his position the Paradis bunch all of a sudden
-Woah, Armin's the one who finally decides to dirty his hands, he's really had the most character growth of anyone
-Armin pretending they're still on Flock's side, I assumed Flock had assumed they were all traitors when he realized they'd all disappeared after Cart Titan showed up. He was fucking terrified that Mikasa was gone. I guess he wasn't decided on Armin and Connie.
-there's something wrong with how those two soldiers Armin & Connie are talking to are drawn, their expressions look like they're Titans, it's creepy. And Armin and Connie are the worst actors ever.
-Hizuru royalty are badasses too, apparently
-Mikasa taking down three people before they could fire a single shot Get out there, Mikasa!!!
-Ohshit, he shot Armin! Lucky he's a Titan.
-Armin sitting there with his bloody mouth gaping unnervingly
-Why is Levi back to being bandaged? His face looked in pretty good shape before.
-TITANS GO!
-Connie killing both scouts
-what the hell kind of scream was that??? It sounded like Tarzan yodelling

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E11/E86
Man, here I was worried being called "Retrospective" meant this was going to be another boring talky episode!
- Spoiler:
-Conny looking absolutely wrecked by killing those two, and then Annie swings by casually crushing multiple people with every move
-fuck, ship'll take too long to prepare and half of everything's gonna be gone by the time they get there
-Call for help and Reiner's massive face appears to just fucking eat the attacker
-Mikasa, YES! Get him!
-big hand down!
-stopping rockets with his face is somehow so incredibly Reiner
-who blew up the train?!?
-God, Falco stabbing himself and then just having to agonizingly poke around in the wound for ages to try and provoke the transformation
-SHIT! Annie's down! Reiner's failing!
-Conny being a legitimate badass
-MI! KA! SA!
-Run, Cart!!
-Falco finally brings out the Jaw!!
-And Gabi with a rifle again, brings Flock down. Nice circularity.
-Mikasa tearing through everyone in a rain of blood
-FUCK
-FALCO DON'T KILL PIECK
-phew, I was genuinely scared there, for some reason I've spent more time being worried for Pieck in the last two seasons than any other character in all five
-Magath staying behind to guard the rear
-holy fuck, Shadis was the one to destroy the train! Way to go training guy!!
-Shadis and Magath bonding before heroically exploding themselves
-Annie learns her hometown's dead and just gives up and doesn't want to fight anymore
-preview for next week definitely sounds like Eren planned for them all to do what they're doing, it's totally going to end like you said. I find the whole "Eren is a mastermind" thing annoying, but they're clearly not going to back down on that, so I think that'd be about as good an ending as they could do.

- Oops, takes forever to get the boat going
- Damn, that animation on Floch going for it
- Fucking Gabi is a sniper
- Mikasa is a fucking monster
- Magath cutting Falco out of his Titan, a strangely tender moment
- RIP, psycho drill sergeants ;_;>
I don't think Eren is a mastermind so much as that time-travel shit just shows him the results of all of his actions because he's already done them in the future

- Spoiler:
- Yeah, but the effect still comes off the same, he's awesome and totally on top of everything and badass-and-angst-creatingly-evil-seeming-but-secretly-a-good-guy-who-was-just-a-million-steps-ahead and Zeke-ier than Zeke ever was. (Not to mention, presumably at some point/alternate universe/whatever there has to have would-have existed an Eren who did (or will have done) those things without it already having been going to be done, for them to exist as the future for him to know he will do. Or at least, to ring true it needs to have always had the potential for some version of him to have been going to do those things, and I don't buy that any potential Eren would have been going to be smart enough to play this all out even if the Eren that would have had to do that never actually has to have will-have existed, because time paradox.)
Like, a time loop where the future creates the past creates the future is a technically proficient solution for everything and satisfying on the mechanical plot level, but it just lands up feeling like the Eren of the first 2-3 seasons has nothing to do with the current Eren so it lands up more like when his brain downloaded the future he turned from being a character into being a plot device and Eren-the-character hasn't existed since then. This show's always been a little weak on character and overly in love with its clever plot at the expense of other things, and this element is - and I think probably always has been - the heart of that, so even though it's on-brand and probably the most satisfying ending I can think of at this point, it still kind of highlights the show's weaknesses. It's a show that never pulls things off well enough for me to shut off my critical brain on, except when it's just pure action.
That said, if they keep giving us proper action episodes with lots of Mikasa being fucking terrifying like the last couple, I'm fine with that level of flaw.

Re: Attack on Titan
S5E12/E87
- Spoiler:
-what the fuck clothes is Mikasa wearing, that doesn't suit her AT ALL. Most of the rest look okay, though, Jean and Hange it really suits.
-Sigh, whyyyyyy must this show always flashback into something unnecessary and usually boring right when things had started getting exciting??? They'd better have something new to reveal to make it worth it at least. Also, there really must be going to be another season after this, this would be the pointlessest series finale ever.
-Connie and Sasha using the braincell they share between them to debate whether a car is a horse or a cow (but also, lazy as hell, never having seen a car doesn't make a person stupid enough to mistake them for animals. They're obviously related to a carriage just based on the visuals. And they know what metal is. If they wanted to do something funny but ridiculously stupid, they should have had Sasha think it's food.)
-LOL at Hange calling and waving at the car. Hange, never change!
-For some reason, Eren looks like a missionary in those clothes
-Sasha eating ice cream feels bittersweet
-LEVI'S FACE WiTH THAT CREEPY CLOWN!!! (but also what the fuck was with that creepy clown??? )
-...Eren and Mikasa still have never talked about their relationship??? I assumed they were lowkey dating since that scarf scene in one of the early season finales! Or at least some kind of "it's too weird to actually be together since we grew up together that much, but we're still somehow romantically tied to each other," since that scarf scene sure seemed like a romantic declaration but they were never couple-y afterwards. But I'm grateful the show hasn't been making us watch an endless will they-won't they even if that's apparently what they've been doing behind the scenes this whole time.
-this 'getting drunk with an entire refugee camp immediately after arriving on our crucial and dangerous top-secret mission' thing is weird. And how did the grown-ups not notice they were gone for hours, especially given that their #1 most important person without whom everything collapses disappeared in the middle of a meeting and the people who went to look for him never came back? It's dumb and feels like sloppy storytelling.
-And he just walks off that easily. I'd forgotten they all spent most of that season being absolute idiots.
-Mikasa wondering if Eren wouldn't have gone rogue if she'd told him she loved him.
-wait, Eren asked Zeke about his stupid thing about the Ackermans being mind-controlled? That means at one point he believed it. But why? Where the fuck did he get it from? And this also makes it seem like Zeke told him it was dumb and he was like "well, Mikasa will fall for it anyway, she's dumb, right?"
-Back to the Rumbling. So yeah, there was absolutely nothing we needed in that nearly episode-long flashback, why do they love pointless flashbacks so much??
-God, that Ymir-form Titan is scary-looking
Yup, so we're getting a 6th season, to achieve what could easily have been done in 3, probably 2 if you pushed it.
