I dunno. Work I know there's a failure possibility, but work has firm and fast rules. Same with school and education.
People and socialisation? Too many variables to wrap my head around. Way too many. It feels like I'm simultaneously being judged by everyone at all times and ignored at all times and it does my head in.
Also, someone just anon'd me on Tumblr and said they have a crush on me. I'll assume, for the sake of being open minded, it's true. But my first feeling and so far only feeling is discomfort. I think that says a lot about how I perceive people's approval of me.

Continuous rows of seats now are empty. All who were standing...continue to stand. I take a seat. I'm a rebel.

There's something wrong with me if this is how introductions usually go.

It all gives such insight into life. It's a giant circus, this entire country.

Holy moly. I had previously no interest in Outlander until I saw this gif of the leads:

Someone "accidentally" squeezed my arm on the tramcar today. I suspect there was a bit more squish than she expected—magic of Henley shirts, I s'pose—but oddly not an altogether unpleasant or embarrassing experience for me. She smiled. She also walked to the opposite end of the car. Guess I'm mostly just thinking about whether it's worthwhile to continue thinking about it.

To the girl who was staring at me on the train last night, protip: don't do that - it's creepy.

Knocked my recently-repaired laptop off a high table onto hardwood floor. It seems fine, I so far lucked out...

Why didn't I think of using paper bullets to snipe at houseflies before?

How does one argue with hostile experts who walk outside of their field partially, but not totally? I don't want to argue like a creationist, and I don't want to concede when WEIRD-factors, proving too much and a history of erronous conclusions out of political motivations in said field come into play. Compensating for lack of eloquence and jargon knowledge also hands me somewhat unequal footing, and this brings a hazard of arguing out of ego-fueled stubborness, instead of truth-seeking(whatever that may be). Still, better be proven a fool as then I might actually learn something, with the humiliation adding to the impact of the lesson.

First make sure you are not arguing out of ego fueled stubbornness. Then prepare for being overwhelmed by citations.
Moon mechanics and motion still confuse the crap out of me. Conceptually I get it, but I find myself surprised when the moon is over *here* this morning when the moon was over *there* last night.

Re: Random Thoughts: The Randoming
I shaved last night and somehow I still have my Nairing song stuck in my head.
(I sing to myself while applying Nair because you're forced to sit perfectly still while wet, naked, and freezing your ass off and it gets pretty damn miserable pretty quick.)
Its to the tune of the children's' song "I've been working on the Railroad" and it goes like this:
I've been Nairing in the shower
All the live-long day!
I've been Nairing in the shower
Just to pass the time away.
Can't you feel the hair dissolving?
Toxic chemical goo!
Can't you feel the hair dissolving?
I smell formaldehyde!
Formaldehyde, formaldehyde,
I smell formaldehyde-hyde-hyde!
Formaldehyde, formaldehyde,
I smell formaldehyde!
(Note: Nair doesn't actually contain formaldehyde, it just sure as hell stinks like dissection day in 8th grade biology class.)
Just thought I'd share that with you guys.

Re: Random Thoughts: The Randoming
Fam's pet cat died after 17 years. Was a long way coming and doesn't really hurt that bad, so I post a joke about how she's now resting in peace in the soup. What follows are a load of utterly sincere condolences, and it just feels...tacky. This is why I shouldn't post semi-feelsy stuff to social media, or talk about it with people who won't cheer me up with banter. And there's always that niggling doubt that this is not just a preference that a subsection of people share, but a deviation in overanalyzing and not appreciating phatic expressions.

Re: Random Thoughts: The Randoming
In a very strange turn of events, two friends of mine apparently met a couple of swingers yesterday.
I'm intrigued to hear how that turned out.

Lately, using roll-on deodorants have resulted in sore-ish and itchy underarms. I don't know why this happening as I've never really had any problems before.

So, on the scale of obnoxious reasons to cancel a date to highly excusable ones, I'm going to say that, "My sister whose pregnancy is worrisome enough for her be on bed rest at the hospital rather than at home had a freak out and needed company," is more toward the latter end of the scale?

Re: Random Thoughts: The Randoming
Yeah, though that's a level of detail not many will coherently provide at the moment of making said excuse. Still seems a bit odd to me to outright cancel unless there are other factors too, but I wouldn't call it bad behavior either way.
It is also difficult to distinguish in the moment whether one finds a person / a person's actions obnoxious or just the situation itself. I make a point of directing emotions like gratitude at people, but vexation needn't be taken out on others.

It should be said that everyone in this situation lives in the middle of nowhere, so there's driving involved. But he's cancelled again for tonight as well. So, either he's really family-oriented and has the worst luck ever, or he's a flake with an active imagination.

I would say the latter end, yes. When my mom had her hysterectomy I was gonna go visit her in the hospital, but by the time I got off work, well, visiting hours were over and the nurses had kicked out my dad & siblings earlier in the evening anyway.

Well, sorry to hear that. D: Here's hoping they're not a flake, I've been flaked on too often to know how it feels. -hugs-

Found it. It was the Kathogan from The Relic (1997).
I remember watching The Lost Boys too.
